Fergie vocals on a song: very fucking wrong!
Nononono, her own music might suck testicles, but her voice is amazing and she has quite the set of rock pipes!

Damn, she lost some weight, didn't she? Looks darned good now .
Funny to hear her talk about VR, but I guess she was never a fan and the supposed rumours back in the day about her wanting them to split up might have some truth to them.
Very cool interview, first I've seen with her. She seems like a very cool woman.

I'm not gonna buy it, I don't think it's good enough for that. I didn't buy Libertad for the same reason. Not gonna download it either, but the myspace streams don't convince me. The songs aren't strong enough (which I obviously already knew for the most part), and the arrangement is just utterly horrible.
I sincerely hope they get their heads out of their asses and realize they need each other. And I agree IFOCS is better than CD (or CB or Libertad), I still don't get why people continuously mock that album.

Bucket is one hell of a Blues player if he wants to, and so much more. People have got to stop saying he plays without emotion, he's one the most emotive players I know. I prefer some of his renditions of Slash's solo's (Nightrain being a prime example), so saying he's just flat out copying Slash is just plain ridiculous.
As Mikka says, BH is the main reason why this album is as good as it is (where you rank it, is totally up to personal taste, and I'm with Mikka on this one: most of it is sub-par). So people should stop the "bucket is a mindless shredder who tries to sound like Slash but has no feeling" tantrum they've been throwing recently. Not only is it ridiculous, it's also obnoxious.
I do like the underlying discussion though, would this album have been better if it was made by the old band? I personally think it would, and obviously I believe Slash & Duff would've had a big part in that. Difficult to quantify why exactly, but something about those three guys (four, the effect would even be bigger if Izzy was part of it) working together has always elevated them above the sum of their parts I think. I guess mainly because they tempered each others extremes.
Yeah, I prefer Slash as well, but puh-lease... if Axl ever had a guy who could more than fill the void it was Bucket.

Sorry for the clutter, but I'm really missing out on the party 'cause of my pre-menstruation syndrome here...
(damn, that was awful )

Fuckin' hell guys. Are you really that far up Axl's asshole? Half of the songs on CD aren't even written by him. Hell, if this album is a success, it will be because he surrounded him with the right people, I'm sure a certain mr. B. Caroll would agree...
Furthermore, it's ridiculous to compare CD to even the UYI's. It's a solid record, but it can't hold a candle to the older material. (big fat IMHO disclaimer, obviously).
As for his lyrics, I find them to be bland in comparison to some of his work on the Illusions (AFD is a different beast altogether, but the juvenile lyrics suit it well), so instead of declaring Axl the sole god of all things guns n roses or popular rock music maybe you guys should wake up and smell the reality.
Damn, never thought I'd read something as overtly ridiculous as the last page of this thread on here.

TheMole wrote:I play a 1979 Gibson "The Paul", original neck pick-up, dimarzio bridge pick-up. I just bought a Line 6 Flextone III Xl two or three weeks ago. It's an amazing amp, and anyone who says the modeling doesn't sound right is a big tube sissy
.
Oh no... a walnut LP and a ss modeling amp....
Figured someone would diss my rig .
Actually, the flextone is awesome with a humbucker equipped guitar, honest to god. Our studio has a JCM-800 stack, and when I play my Flex through the Marshall cab without cab modelling, set to the JCM-800 model, I dare anyone to hear the difference.

As for the guitar, I hate the color/finish , but love how it plays! It has the slimmer neck, flatter frets and satin finish, which makes it one hell of a fast LP (pretty much unlike any of the affordable Gibson's these days). It sounds amazing distorted, and with the right strings (I use cleartones, well worth the extra cost), the clean sound can go from super sweet to extra clear. Only thing it misses when played clean might be some warmth.
I've been looking for a nice additional axe, but hate strat-type sounds, so I'm looking for an affordable humbucker sporting machine with a warm clean sound. I need a tune-o-matic/stop-bar type bridge (can't handle anything else ), so I've been looking at getting a Mockingbird , but the only high quality yet affordable guitars BC.Rich make these days are all walnut or maple "natural" colored... *ugh*

So if anyone has any ideas, feel free to point me in the right direction.
