I'd like to see them listed ahead of times as a "performer" but who knows.
Yeah me too, the surprise factor in 2002 was special in a way, but can they really do that again? I guess they could. Jimmy Fallon really sold that too, he seemed as excited as anyone. If they do perform I think he should introduce them again. He dropped the F-bomb he was so damn excited.

Last years VMA's was horrendously awful. I think I lasted 3 minutes or so. If there's no definitive announcement that GNR will perform I may just tape it so I can fast forward through all the crap, of which there will be plenty I'm sure.

You know I really like "Better" but I'm still amazed at how much love that song gets over the other leaks in the GNR community. I just don't get it. I rank it no more than 4th or so as far as the leaks go, yet it's mostly regarded as the favorite among the masses. Maybe I'm missing something. Especially since "I.R.S." is among my favorites and that got voted out first.

Just a couple corrections, and these are really minute, so excuse me. Not nitipicking, just throwing in my 2 cents. Instead of "women's bed" shouldn't it be "womAn's bed"? And after "If I could go back inside to the place in my soul". Shouldn't it be, "There all alone", instead of "they're all alone".

I went with CD. Tough call though. TWAT is my winner from here on out though.

This is interesting. The dude seems pretty candid and not at all looking for attention. Though he didn't seem overly impressed with Shackler's.
So if 4 albums come out I guess I can buy three of them just not the one titled Chinese Democracy?
I agree he didn't give a glowing review of "Shackler's Revenge". Though he did say it was good. But how many times do you listen to a song once, or even a few times and instantly love it? It doesn't happen very often. I didn't really get into the latest leaks until 10 listens in or so. Now I love them as much as the rest.

Upon injection, cocaine reaches the brain in a matter of seconds, and the exhilarating rush that follows can be so intense that it induces some users to vomit uncontrollably.[citation needed] Subjective effects not commonly shared with other methods of administration include a ringing in the ears moments after injection (usually when in excess of 120 milligrams) lasting 2 to 5 minutes including tinnitus & audio distortion. This is colloquially referred to as a "bell ringer".[30] In a study[26] of cocaine users, the average time taken to reach peak subjective effects was 3.1 minutes. The euphoria passes quickly. Aside from the toxic effects of cocaine, there is also danger of circulatory emboli from the insoluble substances that may be used to cut the drug. As with all injected illicit substances, there is a risk of the user contracting blood-borne infections if sterile injecting equipment is not available or used.An injected mixture of cocaine and heroin, known as 'speedball' is a particularly popular and dangerous combination, as the converse effects of the drugs actually complement each other, but may also mask the symptoms of an overdose. It has been responsible for numerous deaths, particularly in and around Los Angeles, including celebrities such as John Belushi, Chris Farley (in Chicago), Mitch Hedberg (in North NJ) River Phoenix and Layne Staley (in Seattle).
Experimentally, cocaine injections can be delivered to animals such as fruit flies to study the mechanisms of cocaine addiction.[31] taken from wikipedia
Okay, so cocaine CAN injected into an arm per se, but most cocaine users snort the stuff, at least I think that's the most common way to do the drug. Maybe your hardcore users who want it injected directly into the bloodstream. I'm still not buying that as the lyric. I'm going with "cocaine in the hall".

Maybe I'm missing something on the drug front, but doesn't cocaine go up your nose and not in your arm? Isn't that heroin? Why would it be ?cocaine in the arm?"

DCK, I'm with you. That guy is in the wrong line of work if it's fake. He should be an actor.
He obviously said what he said because he believed in it. Whoever he is or not and what type of work he does isn't really important. It's ok to be skeptical but as for this one, I see nothing in the guys mimics or his tone when he speaks that it's a set up. He may be fucking everyone over talking off the record, but he is obviously giving people what he thinks is inside information based on rumours he's picked up. It happens all the time no?
That was well put, he's giving out information based on rumors that he's heard, just like Sebastian Bach and others have done in the past. That's basically it. It remains to be seen how much of this, if any, turns out to be true. The one thing he and we know for sure is that "Shackler's Revenge" will be on the game. Anything else is a bonus, and I hope we get a lot of bonuses.

I don't think it's staged or a fake, I think the guy was real, duped, and knows a little bit about the behind the scenes of the game & band. A little bit however.
monkeychow wrote:i wonder if we're really getting 4 albums? He seemed to be saying it was just something he'd heard around the place...maybe he'd just heard second hand forum rumours?
I agree, this guy probably works for the designing company & wasn't in on the negotiating etc. He's probably only heard the song while playing/testing the game at work, & someone at work who was with him mentioned it's going to be 3 or 4 albums. The VMA thing has some legitimacy, as it's an MTV game, but again, someone with him might have remembered they played the 2002 VMA's & they were speculating they might play them again this year.
Take everything with a grain of salt, don't get your panties in a tizzy.
Yeah I think we're giving this guy too much credit that he's in the know, whether the video is legit or staged. He doesn't bring up anything earth shattering and most importantly doesn't confirm anything. Sure he could've heard some whispers around the halls about a 4 album release or an MTV VMA performance. Any one of us could've come up with those stories. It only makes sense that "Shackler's Revenge" would signal the start of promotion. But this is GNR and nothing makes sense in the land of GNR so I wouldn't count on anything at this point. Take it one step at a time. We've got a new song to look forward to in the fall. What happens after that? We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
