#61 Re: Guns N' Roses » 2023 Tour Dates » 101 weeks ago
To me this implies they are/were at least considering releasing something.
This. If it were any other band we'd all be saying "this is exciting, looks like new music is on the way".
It's GN'R. All we ultimately know is all the things you mentioned happened. And the most we can assume is at the time those things happened there was a plan to release something.
We have no idea how many times their plans have changed or whether they've been scrapped entirely.

Hell...the Chairman even admitted this with the "more rasp" line.
There was also other trades going on at the same time.
We all know who the Chairman is right? It's fairly common knowledge who was writing those poems and who was supplying the tracks.
Are we allowed to say in public?
Based on who it is - I'd be surprised if they were holding on to more material given their pre-2019 track record.
Yeah I thought everyone knew who it is... although Flash doesn't so maybe the news didn't travel everywhere.
It's darknemus.

Really?!?
If someone at his level in the saga has nothing, nobody has anything and the whole thing is smoke and mirrors.
Based on his track record I would guess it would have found its way out by now. Only reason I could see Nemus holding stuff from what I know of him is if he wanted to trade it for more.
That said, I know of three tracks he might have but that's only if something that I think was bullshit was actually real...

https://we.tl/t-aJn0ZOt1mI i believe this is the cover for that tape. no atlas or prostitute
Then I was lied to! When did this emerge?
#65 Re: Guns N' Roses » If GNR releases nothing in 2023, is this the end for you? » 102 weeks ago
My understanding is that the "1999 Demos" that leaked in 06 came from a tape/CD that contained CITR, IRS, TWAT, HS, Atlas & Prostitute and that the versions of HS, Atlas & Prostitute from that source circulated for years since that Mid 00s timeframe.
It is a real shame that those who got the 2019 Zutaut Discs dropped the ball. Some of what was on there may have been trade worthy - who knows maybe it did happen and those folk are keeping quiet and holding on to those tracks too.

Skwerl is saying these are 10 distinctly different songs from the 9 he leaked. This was written after the release of “Chinese Democracy” which he has said he owns and listened to, so we are also not talking about “Shackler,” “Scraped,” “Catcher,” “This I Love” or “Sorry” because he would have identified them.
It was published in January 2014, 5 years before the storage locker leaks. See https://consequence.net/2014/01/read-th … acys-leak/
10 other songs have been in circulation since January 2014. Not alternate mixes, not remixes, but songs.
Another interesting tidit:
"It is widely assumed that I’m likely to have access to more leaks. I don’t. I’m not a hoarder, and I don’t care to have anything I can’t share. I know that there are about ten more Guns N’ Roses songs floating around among outsiders, but I forget the working titles that I had been given, and I forget the name of one guy I met that had them. I’m not just saying that; I really do forget these details. I didn’t care, because they did me no good. What I’ve heard left me somewhat impressed, as I recall, but I’ve heard no new songs more than once, and none all the way through. I can barely remember how they went. I do not have a photographic memory.
While I was still working at Universal in 2005, I met a guy that had been working with Axl, who told me that he had touched over 90 songs, 40 of which were “some of the best songs he’d ever heard.” 14 of the 90 would eventually become Chinese Democracy. But ten demos floating around don’t mean a whole lot to me. If Axl Rose chokes on a donut tomorrow and dies, there’ll be ten more Guns N’ Roses albums on the way. But you won’t find me getting impatient for the next one anytime this decade. So I’m not looking for any more GNR leaks. If you have any, I’m not interested, and I’ve got nothing to trade you. I think the GNR fan community is great, and that’s who this is for, but I’ve got nothing else to offer."
"About ten" could be a bit more, could e a bit less. As I said - were the ten he's referring to from one particular set or a collection of these songs from various points in time.
I find the 90 songs part interesting, it aligns with what some have said over the years. How many are good and how many actually have vocals is a whole other matter.
Unless his estate are vindictive we'll eventually hear them all when Axl passes. Question is how many of us will still be around also at that point. It's sad.
I think it is harder for this stuff to leak now - those who have it have traded amongst each other to probabbly all collectively have what is out there. Only other way is buying in but you need to find these people.

Damned right. I want the original, too.
As Detective Columbo, my mom’s favorite TV character, used to say, just one more thing:
“It is widely assumed that I’m likely to have access to more leaks. I don’t. I’m not a hoarder, and I don’t care to have anything I can’t share. I know that there are about ten more Guns N’ Roses songs floating around among outsiders, but I forget the working titles that I had been given, and I forget the name of one guy I met that had them. The second disc of Chinese Democracy is circulating.
How do we hear it? What will it take?
These are direct questions to those who have already sat on the tracks for a decade.
When you say 2nd disc, what year is it assumed the disc came from?
"2nd disc" isn't necessarily literal.
Some will be hoarding collections or sub-collections of songs that altogether could be the part 2 (second disc) of Chinese Democracy. These could be demos of these tracks from various time points throughout the process.
Keep in mind, the source of demos that contained "99 IRS, TWAT & Catcher" that leaked in 06 also apparently contained Prostitute, Atlas & Hard School. We eventually heard close enough equivalents to those in the 2019 leaks but strictly those versions never leaked. There are people who have had that version of Atlas since the 00s and they have posted among us for years. Others will have different versions of these tracks from various points in time.
Others may genuinely have a close to final mix that was rumored to exist for a 2010 release. Others may have equivalents of that which were earlier and some may have later.
I've been told by some that they have the album art and back cover of CD2 with the tracklist. No idea if that's true but apparently they got hold of it when MSL got his trove of documents.

These 4+ songs that Slash confirmed they worked on would be more valuable as promotion for the tour as a complete package.
Piecemeal, with no interviews or promotion won't move the needle. Surprise releases can work, but they need to come with other promotional materials.

I just wish the band would release something unleaked. They complain that their shit keeps getting leaked before release - they're the ones who control whether this stuff comes out or not. Each day they let pass without releasing the unleaked material is a day closer to it eventually leaking one day.
I don't feel cheated though about them releasing things I've heard officially though. That's stupid.

They have nothing interesting in their discography like a Achtung Baby/Zooropa/Zoo TV concept or The Wall/Dark Side of the Moon that could be mind blowing in such an environment.
They have a few albums filled with random songs....and 99.9% of their artwork consists of boring skulls/skeletons.
Who wants to pay $600-$1200 to hear Jungle while 3 skeletons dance on a giant screen?
There's really no interest (to me anyway) outside of one show or two in a regular venue. The lack of content where they could rotate albums or do anything creative hurts them big time.
Yeah it's a clusterfuck. They have such few options due to the small discog when it comes to these things....
AFD in its entirety
Considering the fact they've hit fans over the head with AFD for so long us fans coined a term for it(AFD Rehash)...would anyone really care?
UYI I and II in its entirety
Considering the fact the big anniversary just passed us by and very few cared...is it really an option? Besides...they'd never do it in its entirety anyways.
Don't Damn Me (still never performed)
Garden of Eden (not performed in decades)And of course....garbage like....
Get In the Ring
Shotgun Blues
My WorldWill never be performed.
They just can't put on special events like that.
They could copy what Metallica are currently doing for a UYI entirety tour. Two nights, different set on each one with each night getting UYI I and II in entirety respectively.
That and full AFD are the only gimmicks for a tour without a new album.
Others here are right. A new song on its own doesn't shift extra tickets, the buzz of a whole new album might.
