You're exactly right, James, and you took the words right out of my mouth that I was about to type. People need to stop fucking believing slogans and hearsay. You would think that another referendum is counter to democracy, and while it's true, on a huge situation like this, it's also better to be safe than sorry. I don't know where that line is drawn, but it's obvious leave is falling apart at the seams under pressure, had no idea what was actually going to happen in the first place and is totally fucked. Like you said, just like Trump. It seems anti-democracy but if a country fucks up and does something stupid, if they don't have the ability to right that stupidity, it also isn't very democratic.

Noel Gallagher said it best on the subject, he said why let the people vote? 99% of them are thick as pig shit. Let the politicians make the decision. I believe this was the right way to do it, sans Cameron's destruction of competition. Vote in the guy who has the plans and promises that says EXACTLY what leaving is going to do and let him do it. If he says "People of UK, $350 million goes to NHS and we leave EU", then you at least have a promise. Not saying it'd be true. Now they're leaving and starting from square one. They have no plan. They just hoodwinked 17 million (dare I say) imbeciles.

This is just clusterfuckery of fantabulous proportions.

When I saw GNR in 2010, they left Patience out of the set the show I went to, but in fairness to them, they played pretty different sets in two nights in my province, so if anyone went to both shows, they heard a lot of different tracks. I can't say it pissed me off too much, but I also can say that right after the show, I thought to myself "hey... no Patience". It's such a giant hit and a nice, mellow tune and for me is the only glaring omission in that set list.

The GNR well has so many hits and songs are too long to play 'em all. It's the only reason stuff like The Seeker is looked down on... trading a GNR favorite is tough. One can understand Duff getting a Spaghetti Incident song and if they put Coma in there for Slash and the hardcore fans to get everyone off.

Better is a great song, This I Love is a favorite that means so much, but maybe Chinese Democracy is the one that could be left behind as it's actually one of the weaker tracks on the album anyways. I see every other song on the set's meaning to the group and show, but CD is like... meh. Good song, but it's not even really gonna pop the hardcores and the old school fans might not even know it. I'd take Slither any day over CD or The Seeker. At the end of the day, it'd just be fun for them to play it. Or maybe even have Seeker or CD somewhere in the middle for a piss break song.

All in all, I'm being way overly critical, the set list is off the charts.

Speaking from someone in Canada as well, I pretty much am hearing the same stuff. I did get a kick out of them talking about taking a Canadian approach to things. I live in the asshole of Canada, where the xenophobes are a dime a dozen and the people who voted leave to bring our system in isn't going to leave them too happy because I'm assuming they're the same type of idiots I have to listen to all day bitch about foreigners.

In my limited reading about the immigration situation, was the UK becoming really taxed financially because of EU people going and living there? Would they not pay UK taxes while they lived there to offset whatever expenses they may have caused for hospitals, programs, etc?

More likely (if the case is similar to where I live in the asshole of Canada), leaders are fucking up with the money and neglecting hospitals and whatnot in favor of beefing up huge corporations who don't pay their taxes. And the common doofus just sits around saying "deyyy turrk errr derrbbs" without never actually having experienced it.

Putting out a concert DVD of Axl singing when Brian sang on the album the tour is based on and did 75% of the tour's shows to begin with? No, that wouldn't piss anyone off. Haha.

It's the wrong time in the cycle though.

The Ac/Dc pattern is album drop, 2 year world tour, 3-4 years downtime, regroup, 6 months recording, album drop, repeat.....

On the normal pattern rock or bust would finish up the tour for the rest of this year, then go into down mode, Angus should resurface circa 2021 or so.

Given they're getting older maybe he'd work faster knowing he's running out of time. Or maybe slower given the touring would take more of a toll.

Additionally the next album may be harder to write - Malcom is not in the picture - the Rock or Bust was constructed from spare riffs Angus had kept lying around over the last two decades or so....but who knows if there's enough in that vault to go for a new album without needing to spend time writing properly....

I think Angus is the type to play until health stops him, but given these facts I think we're a few years out at least from the next record.

GNR on the other hand has had an album or more lying in wait since at least 2009, meanwhile Slash and Duff are back to repair any non-gnrness about it, and Slash smashes out an album about every 2 years or so.

Axl seems to be more like his old self, he seems happier, he is singing with rasp and seems to really care again - even doing stuff like coma.

I actually think a new-gnr album and maybe something epic is much more likely to happen next.

So if this theory is true, why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch over Axl/DC when in theory it's going to be done until 2021 anyways? That leaves Guns plenty of time to come up with new albums, in theory. I think people are panicking over nothing here, even if Axl is a full member of AC/DC. And we're still merely assuming there will be new GNR material. Slash and Duff re-doing old GNR vault material isn't a collaborative reunion lineup album that we're salivating for. Not that it wouldn't be an amazing record.

I'm fairly confident if the day comes Axl is a full fledged AC/DC member, Angus will have a solid plan to go forward. If they don't plan to do anything for 5 more years, Angus isn't going to make him a member of the band publicly. If he announces Axl is in, I'm sure he'll be heading to the studio much quicker than before. If Angus wants to re-establish the new AC/DC he's gotta do things faster than before, especially if he wants to retain his singer.

It's all a crap shoot, but everything can coincide together here.

You guys overuse "Period." more than anyone else I've ever met.

Let me drop some science... Axl/DC is the best chance you have at new material. Period.

I know Axl has said Dan McAfferty was a big vocal inspiration, but I've been listening to a lot of Prism lately (they're playing a 5 minute drunken stumble from my apartment) and I heard this song... I wonder if Axl hadn't heard this one a lot? What do you guys think? The beginning of the song, especially, as trained as my ears to Axl, I would have put money down it was early Axl legit.

For what it's worth, the singer of that song, Ron Tabak, died in 1984. And if you don't agree with me, hopefully you've been introduced to a kick ass Canadian tune you might listen to down the road again.

OK, just found a new article with comments from Brian about the hearing loss. He puts it into great perspective by comparing to young sports people who get injured and it ends their career. He has had a great run for a very long time and at least this didn't happen when he was 25 like it does for some of those sports people. Also good perspective from him that it's not life or death. As he said, it's not cancer or some terminal disease. And he is pretty lucky to have had a great long life in rock and roll. Bon Scott was not so fortunate (likewise with Cobain, Lennon, Hendrix, and so many others).

Wow, that is kind of fucked up... in that interview, Brian says the worst of it began in Winnipeg, the show I went to in September.

Someone wrote on here about AC / DC being better than Guns, I think Brett was their name.

Sorry bro, I like AC / DC  casually. But, AC / DC can't hold a candle to Guns. The general public and even people with heads not in their asses know that all AC / DC songs sound alike. Just say different words: TNT, Thunder et cetera.

Not trying to take a piss on AC / DC but, you can't say in musical sense or creativity that it beats Guns N' Roses. It just doesn't.

Again, I like AC / DC. Think Axl is great in it. I liked them when they blew the Rolling Stones out of the water and did a great one for my city of Toronto. But, they aren't in the same league as Guns.

Brian's situation is unfortunate.

I definitely would never say AC/DC is better than Guns musically, so it must have been someone else or my post was misinterpreted. With that said, I wouldn't be offended if someone said AC/DC was better than Guns because they just have too many good songs. Remember, your fuhrer Axl is giddy like a 9 year old girl at a tea party to be singing for this band whose songs supposedly sound alike and have shitty lyrics. That alone should put things into perspective on just how much AC/DC means to music.

#70 Re: Guns N' Roses » Any Rumors on Opening Acts? » 476 weeks ago

I'd love them to keep Sebastian Bach opening for them because the crowd loves him and he puts on a great show. Bands like Airbourne, Steel Panther, or old bands who had great music that aren't in huge demand are who I would pick because I love nothing more than a solid rock show through and through. If Helix (you guys probably don't remember them) and, say, Baz opened for GNR, I'd be absolutely thrilled because there wouldn't be a bad song all night. I know if you go see a small show, you have to sit through songs you don't know, it's part of the game. But when I see a huge band, I hate nothing more than sitting through some new shitty local band like I did when I saw Def Leppard, or an unknown band that doesn't fit the audience, like Vintage Ink when I saw AC/DC.

I don't think the opening act means dick on this reunion tour. No one's gonna shell out those prices because they like the opener a lot.
