In the middle of all of this, I still pounder about the future - about this kind of music. People going nuts for a GNR semi-reunion, which is absolutely. But, where's the new GNR? The new generation of kick ass rock n roll bands filling these stadiums 20 years down the road?
They are there. I'm sure they are doing a gig somewhere in Vegas right now to 50 people. Another one might be doing something in New York in some godforsaken club. People need to swtich their focus. Go see GNR, but dig into something else. I know I am.
Alright, back to partying.

I accepted all the previous lineups as legitimate. But seeing the Troubadour footage has changed things.
GNR will always involve Slash and Duff for me now.They aren't GNR to me without Izzy... Period...

Not GNR unless you put EVERY band member past or present on the stage at the same time.
Including Teddy Andreadis and Rob Gardener.

I find it fascinating that there's still a Buckethead/Brain connection even in the current incarnation of the band. Be interesting to hear if she's contributing vocals as well as keyboards; a female voice in the mix opens up some interesting possibilities.
It is, and it is personally easier for me to get onboard when there's so many connections to the 2000's.

Yeah, Slash and Duff didn't look comfortable. But Axl seemed to be enjoying himself.
It was a momentous occasion, not sure what to make of it though. I was ready for the F&F line-up, but it really seemed like Steven at least would appear. I too have come to realise how much he his missed, his energy adds something.
How the fuck can you make that out from those small clips?
Mindfull of the small stage perhaps?
But, no, let's go for the tabloid; "didn't look comfortable"
