Yeah, it kinda does, but sometimes the aggressive hi-hat and overheads really get on my nerves. I would love an AFD album produced ala IFOC, which also has that raw rock&roll quality to it, but without the annoying bits

If Joe Sixpack was to visit that page, he's probably easily ask himself what "There Was A Time" or "Better" is. It'd be cool if there was a single on the radio to help him with that answer.
Dunno, Joe The Plum... erm... Joe Sixpack might ask himself what "Better" is just as much as he asks himself what "Coma", "Dead Horse", or "Breakdown" is. If they don't promote this themselves, he's never going to bother finding out either, me thinks...

AFD is a phenomenal album, but the production has always sucked, even for that day & age.
*edit* one might argue that that's part if it's charm. I would not be that one.

Got to remember, these songs haven't been released yet. Not everyone has heard them and some may have been unsure whether they were allowed to post them in their top 5. I think the fact that three demos made it up there and beat some of GN'Rs already released material like SCOM for example is very good. Although it is true that most people who posted on that were from the forums and should be taken into account.
Sure, I know. I was just expecting it to be even more skewed towards the leaks, I guess. I mean, the fact that Estranged, Coma and Rocket Queen are in the top 5 obviously shows that this is a heavily forum-goers influenced list.

I for one hope that this album has some success, a grain of credibility with the public, so that I can proudly say that I am a fan of Guns N' Roses. Not that I'm afraid of admitting it now, I just dread the inevitable discussions about hair metal and being stuck in the 80's

No, but you should stop acting like "the sole defender of Axl and his compadres". Ok, you've voiced you're opinion, you're happy with whatever the boys throw at you. Fine, that's your right. But puh-lease, stop complaining about other people having a discussion and interacting about this thing. Did you really think we were all going to be that impressed by three new tracks on top of the existing tracks (which almost all agree are not uniformly grand, ground-breaking or inspiring)?

Yeah, saw that as well... it's fitting enough as far as I'm concerned. Seems like we're going to get a ballad heavy album.
