So Smoking Guns, are you softening a bit on the supposed rip-off in Vegas? They needed this warm-up show. Hopefully Slash will loosen up for your Vegas show. I know he is shy and sober, but I think last night was unusual even by recent Slash standards. Nervous most likely.
Also keep this in mind for Vegas. You'll likely be the first show Slash plays Don't Cry, November Rain, and maybe Estranged in 23 years! Also first time Slash and Axl play Patience together in 23 years. So Vegas does have some exclusive stuff going for it.
I was with Smoking Guns on this, but now I kinda agree this was fun and possibly neccessary for them to loosen up. no big deal, just enjoying the moment

I feel you. I consider myself a huge GNR fan since UYI days, but I really started following them in 1999, consistently since maybe 2004. so it's cool to see Axl didn't trash all those years.

maybe just a slight error there - stating that GNR played their first show at Troubadour at 06/06/85 is not correct. actually that was their first show in AFD lineup. there were a few 1985 shows before that, with either Tracii/Ole/Gardner, Duff/Tracii/Gardner or Duff/Tracii/"other drummer" (no idea who the hell was that - possibly still Rob Gardner?) source: http://www.gnrontour.com/setlistalm85.htm

yup, the last one, 17th. that was with Kid Rock too, I think! those 4 shows were pure magic, exactly like Vegas 2001, Taipei 2009 and Troubadour 2016!

I saw Guns in 2002 in Toronto, and the Hammerstein show 2006 with Izzy (I think that was the first one?), man does it feel good to see him back up there with Slash and Duff together.

The injury could just be a way to save face. You think Adler would want to play the Whiskey on the same night Axl/Duff/Slash are playing the Troubadour? Embarrassing is an understatement.
Adler has no "face" anyway...

I actually think that the drums were damn tight in that snippets. can't judge about Fortus, he seems to be quite in the background (or everybody was just focusing at the front 3).
