Everyone going to a GNR gig knows the show will run late. The organizer coming out and "challenging" Axl/GNR the way he did, was not a smart move. Same goes for GNR, going on late on purpose, if that was the case, was not a smart move.
Del James posted a pic of Dizzy on the tourbus on the way to Leeds, so they're obviously intending to play that gig.
When things like this goes down, there is obviously stuff going on behind the scenes that we don't know. So for the haters to be as all-knowing, as they've been acting in this thread, is just a waste of your own time. Think about that... You're actually spending your own precious time twisting your brain on an event you didn't even attend. That's prolly more stupid than the pissing-match between the organizer and Axl.
It's been said many times over the past years, and it's still true. If Axl/GNR rubs you so insanly the wrong way, stop getting involved! It very simple... After soooo many years, your wierd fascination to predict doom and gloom and willingness to spend time on messageboards, is just sad... I mean, take a moment and add up all the minutes/hours you've wasted. THAT would rub me the wrong way!
You sir are brainwashed.
No, I'm not. But you sir, have a really wierd fascination.
My experience at the Bergen and Oslo gigs earlier this year was far from what I hoped for, and I said so on this very forum. I just don't let the hate consume me.
You can call me and other fans brainwashed, idiots or whatever. But that doesn't make it so. Just makes your wierd obsession seem that more useless.

Just cause you book shows, doesn't mean anyone gives a shit.
Yeah! They'll prolly be playing to empty arenas in Europe for 2 months...

17 years of invested and built up emotions on how it all SHOULD HAVE played out, makes it easy to loose perspective on things.
Us hardcore-forumjunkie-fans who log into messageboards many times every single day are actually just a handfull of people. I mean litteraly, you could prolly cram us forumjunkies from the most known sites into ONE classroom...
Then you have the MILLIONS of fans and average rockfans who bought the latest album and go to the shows.
They don't know shit about Beta, Fernando or Del James and all the behind the scenes drama and conspiracy.
They look at the current status with a bit more down-to-earth kinda view:
"Guns N' Roses released an album. Now they're touring the world. Sure it's just Axl from the original line-up, but I hear they put on a kick ass show. Fuck yeah! Lets check them out!"
That's actually just fine for A LOT of fans....

At about 11:45 There were people scrambling all around the speaker and up in the air around some of the video equipment. When the croud seen that they seem to mellow out. At 12:45 there were some ppl that left but it really was only the ones that arrived on shuttle. By the time the show started, the placed was still packed. Axl took stage at 12:50 and when he did the place erupted. and he rocked the house for over 2hrs that was twice as long as most headliners throughout the week. Leaving the show and the next day ppl were raving about how good axl sound and what a performer he was.. In closing that was the first time I have ever seen guns live and not only was it the best show i have ever seen but i realized how guns got so famous..Axl Rose
Ummmmm.... first and only post on this site and it's nothing but praise and admiration and it comes off as total spin and damagae control. Yeah ok.
Fucking hell!! The nerve of some people!!
Imagine coming to a site dedicated to GNR and posting a positive feedback on the latest gig!
Who the hell does this guy think he is....
Del James, is that you??!!
Excuse me while I go add an extra layer of tinfoil on my hat!!

What's funny is I don't care at all.
But clearly enough to cook up unrealistic theories in your brain and portray them as the truth, and then think people like misterID and me are ridiculous for not believing in them. Because we JUST think it's a hacked account, and not Axl on another hissyfit with his new mobile phone in his pocket, his gun stacked in the other, clearly being upset he wasn't served chicken for his breakfast with Ashba.
It's like some kind of religious cult who have seen the light, and thinks the rest of us are stupid for not drinking YOUR kool aid. Then the bunch of you go here and in this case make in my honest opinion an epic "hit and miss" with this "he did it himself" bullshit because that's what your past experience have told you; "Axl fucks things up."
If it actually IS an hacked account, then you step on the next thing; "How they should have reacted to it quicker". I can join in on that debate though, at least it holds some foundation in the real world. If that's out of the way, let's proceed to the annoying set list. That I actually have PLENTY to say about, but hey, I'm just an Axl nutswinger who haven't seen the light.
+1!
DCK pwnd the tin-foil-hat guys pages ago. Some threw in the towel, but those with dobbel-tin-foil-hats with posters of Fox Mulder on their walls are still at it.
What a funny thread this has become...

Ridiculous.

From Billboard.com
Oh. Good to see that some other organization seems to be sure nothing is canceled.
It would just be too easy for Axl Rose or THE SEVEN OTHER PEOPLE IN THE BAND to update us.
Oh and over and above that is the fact that Festival Republic is probably just posting their own wishful thinking.
They did contact the admin on the biggest fan-forum and confirmed the tour was NOT canceled.
The GNR-camp prolly thought: "Let's tell this guy at mygnr.com and within minutes all the diehard fans will know. And let's tell the festival organizer and they can tell Billboard. Ant that's that!"
Sure it's prolly not the same way other bands would do it. But hey, we've been told what's up many hours ago....

Legitimate news organizations shouldn't have to google fan forums looking for administrators who have email addresses of housekeepers.
They're going with what legitimate information they have(a tweet on Axl's official page, which hadn't been updated in a coon's age until yesterday).
Kinda agree with you on that...
They shouldn't, but they could. They could also mention the tweets from the official GNR-twitter.
They could also keep in mind that fake tweets from official twitter accounts is not that uncommon.
But it is overdue with a real solid official explanation on the status quo.
I don't have tickets for any of the upcoming shows, but if I did I would be a bit nervous until a real official statement.
But until then, the armageddon-posts from many in this thread is way over the top tin-foil-hat-conspiracy-driven!
Jeezzz...
At the end of the day, it's in fact just a band. The sun will rise again tomorrow either way...
