There were a few Russians that got interviewed, just people on the streets, and were talking shit about the U.S. doing it in Russian.
I don't think it lasted long tho.
too funny. If i was there and someone said that I'd slap them out of generosity. They'd need it
#72 Re: The Garden » 10 years in a basement for $10 million, what would you take with you? » 673 weeks ago
Kitchen - 6 pts
Gym - 5 pts
Library - 4 pts
TV - 7 pts
Cell phone - 3 pts
Hygiene - 3 pts
Skylights - 2 pts
Garden & Greenhouse - 2 pts
Microwave - 2 pts
Total - 34 pts
I'm absolutely shocked that none of you took the gym. 10 years in a basement and every one of you passed up the a full gym with basketball court? Makes no sense to me. Lazy fucks.
As for the girl, she was easy to leave off. It sucks but it was an easy choice. She cost way too many points and truth be told I think 10 years in a basement with only one other person would likely drive you insane much quicker than being alone, regardless of who the person was. I thought long and hard about taking a dog for companionship but figured that's what the cell phone is for. Once a week would be spent calling and talking to people. Sucks but hey....
I wanted the skylights for sure. It was just another obvious one to me. 10 years without sunlight just doesn't make sense from a health standpoint. Emotionally and psychologically Skylights were obvious. I think with the gym, kitchen, garden & skylights I don't need a doctor. I'll be fine.
The library was also a must have. 10 years with nothing but time on my hands and every book ever published at my disposal. Yeah I'm gonna read.
The tv won out over the stereop with music based on "companionship" factor. Being able to see other people is important even if it's just on tv. I'd rely on the news to keep me "informed"... maybe keep me current is a better way to put it. I'd have movie channels and porn channels and regular channels. NFL package, NHL package. Also the tv with all the premium packages would come with purely music channels so I'd stll have music. Normally I'd take the internet over the tv but not in this case of isolation. Call m crazy but I think unlimited access to te internet while being isolated for 10 years is a sure fire way to lose your mind.
Basically I think this sets me up to not only survive but come out after the ten years in better shape, a better cook, a more well read person and 6 million dollars richer(like apex I'm taking the 1 million IOU) without going too crazy.
It's not worth 10 years though but hypothetically I was forced
In my honest opinion by not taking the gym you've all set yourself up to hypothetically fail. Physical activty so important to not only our physical well being but our mental well being as well and being couped up in a basement for ten years....... take the gym guys I'm telling ya. Also the skylights were cheap. Most of you are severly underrating the value of sun light. You think cabin fever is bad..... well add zero sunlight into the equation. You'll be fucked

It's shocking and amazing how quick this (us) could all be over and gone in mere seconds.
All it takes is "the big one".
Scary stuff. Even though the Ruskies thought we, the U.S., bombed them initially (just fyi, your country is a toilet, and we could care less, thanks anyways for the compliment though of our power and how skeered you guys still are of us), but seriously my best wishes and safety to all my Russian friends in the mother land.
Where did you hear that nonsense? Sounds like a load of bull in terms of news reporting to me. Initial reports also said Russian military blew it out of the sky with missiles which was obvious bullshit. I highly doubt many Russians thought the Americans were attacking
maybe a few nutjobs but that's about it.
#74 Re: The Garden » Russia hit by Meteorite » 673 weeks ago
It wasn't a meteorite it was the Autobots.
Kidding aside. this happend right near where I live in 2008. I was standing in the living room looking outside and it just appeared out of nowhere and in what seemed like both a lifetimeand an instant the entire sky lit up. My living room lit up as though it was broad day light and then t got dark as though it was an insanely sped up sun set. For a second I was actually confused as to what just happened and kinda concerdn because it looked like it landed in town. I had never seen anything like it. Turns out it landed in a field about 500km(roughly 250 miles) away but I'm telling you it looked so big and the way the entire sky lit up it looked like it landed in town. This is some footage from another town about 200 km away from here I live. the videos don't even remotely do this justice as to what I saw. I have no doubt what those Russians saw was unbeliveable.

So here's some good news:
Just logged in to post this exact story. Great news for sure. I like the idea that it's now obvious it'll be set well after Jedi.

Generally true, but that doesn't mean there aren't some stark differences. I went through some of the top VR songs and while there are many positive comments you don't hear any "this is genius". On Axl's songs that phrase is fairly regular. Axl also still has a huge amount of people saying "this is not gnr", so he's actually got a fair bit of negative comments (though not very much about the actual music). People lauding his lyrical abilities is also something that is almost or totally absent from any VR song. In general the VR comments are more even. Not many extremes.
Likely to piss people off but i think Axl has a lot more fans than most who are apologists and insecure defenders. they pump Axl's tires and exagerate his genius based on the conflict and divison. Axl is thier guy and they've sided with him so they make it out like he can do no wrong. Maybe it's the genius of the music but I'more inclined to believe most comments regarding Axl are troll comments made in retaliation to people saying he's not that good anymore. Take the negative Axl comments and the postive Axl comments and meet in the middle. Gn'R(Axl) have fucked up fans and I'm sure as shit not taking youtube comments as something that suggests Axl's music is more importnat to his fans than other artist's music is to their fans.
Definitely not the music in your case, but you're certainly touched by Axl the man. I'd say the amount of time one chooses to spend on a particular thing says a lot about how much you care for it. If you want drama there's plenty of it to be found but ultimately you like the rest of us spend the majority of that time on Axl. There's a reason I'm not overly interested in knowing what's going on with say Keith Richards or John Lennon. While being in two of my favorite bands their music have not moved me in the necessary degree. That coupled with the drama makes for a powerful combination.
I`m not touched by Axl the man. I think he`s a douche. It`s no secret how I feel. As a musician he WAS amazing. I think he has potential now but that`s it. I post here more so cause ìt`s a topic that`s been going on for 10 years and the members here I`ve ``known` for 7+ years. I know as much or more about the guys in U2 than i do Axl. Or Robert Smith and The Cure or David Usher and Moist. Difference is I don`t need to discuss them daily to find out what`s going on. they make music and that`s it. Axl`s appeal is the car crash.
It is if the end product suffer as a consequence. I'd rather eat at a restaurant once a week than Micky Ds every day. If 1 album in 20 years is what it is I'll take it. I'm paying for a unique product not a regular service..
I love McDonalds. I`ll gladly pay for something I love on a regular basis than starve to death and pay for somthing once ever 2 decades just because it`s unique. Once again you`re making it sound like Slash`s stuff is assembly line shit while Axl`s is a delaacy that is above and beyond anything on the market.
If you prefer the no nonsense approach of AFD I'll agree that Slash usually accomplishes that, but in no way does that mean Axl is more replaceable. The sheer uniqueness of his instrument attest to that. If GN'R was your favorite band you'd see that no problem.
If Gn`R was your favourite band you`d realize how irreplaceable Slash is and you`d also see that in 2013 Slash embodies the Gn`R sound much more than Mickey Mouse. At this stage Slash can bring the Gn`R sound, feel, syle and attitude much more so than Axl can. If Gn`R was your favourite band you`d see that no problem. And yeah I do prefer a no nonsense approach. Axl and CD are pure nonsense.

You say "your man" is trying. I say "my man" is succeeding.
I think Slash is succeeding just fine. Don't try and act like Axl has delieverd more to you than Slash ahs to me. "your man" is doing anything but succeeding.

How are they any more out of place than Kanye West? Are people bothered by his presence there?
No offence but if you really need me to answer this than you're so far out of touch I don't know what to say. Gn'R like BLS said stick out like an insanely sore thumb on this bill. It's painfully obvious.

So did anyone else watch these tonight? I did. I gotta say it was pretty darn good as far as the performances went. It was actually pretty good for once and for obvious reasons. they loaded the performances with real bands who play real instruments and don't lip sync. Nothing was mind blowing but it was all for the most part really good. Gee who knew if you got real performers to perform the show would be good. Maybe real musc fans? just a guess. Easily the best Grammys in years.
I think Carrie Underwood gave the best performance. Vocally she was pretty awesome. Pretty nice to look at too but holy visually Katy Perry sole the show.
