#71 Re: Guns N' Roses » It's been a year today » 813 weeks ago

I was hoping someone would post this. I had to cheat a bit to remember the exact date. I had to look at my sales receipt from Best Buy. (Yes, I still have the receipt)

Its funny how long it took to get to this point, and here it is a whole year AFTER the fact. I still remember the day well. I remember the whole weekend. The songs going up on Myspace, the radio playing the album in its entirety. I drove around like a loon just to hear the songs on the radio. I remember when the day finally got here, I could barely sleep. I sat in the parking lot at Best Buy waiting for them to open. I couldn't wait to finally have my hands on Chinese Democracy. I cracked it open right in the parking lot and shoved it into my CD player, and it didn't come out for the rest of the week.

I may be in the minority here as far as the excitement goes. But damnit it felt good to be a Guns N Roses fan again. And a year later? It still feels just as good.

Happy Birthday CD!!

Has anyone ever bought ultimate fan packages through a website called iloveallaccess? They have packages for the GNR shows, and I'm tempted to buy one. They're pricy, but it'd be one of those once-in-a-lifetime things.

Oh I'm so excited! That commercial is awesome. I'm planning on going to the show in Toronto. It's a 7 hour drive, but honestly it's worth every single second. Does anyone know how I can get the password for the presale tomorrow morning?

I'm torn between the Montreal and Toronto shows. I've never been to Canada before, and I can't decide where to go! I'm leaning more towards Toronto though, because I'd pass by Niagra Falls on my way out and back. I'm not seeing the shows for either on Ticketmaster though, are they listed someplace else?

I'm stoked for these it'll be an awesome start to 2010 for sure!

Does anyone know if there is a show scheduled for Montreal? A member on another board said a date was announced for January 27th in Montreal. Just curious if anyone else can confirm that.
As far as the counter goes mine's at one hour 40 minutes.

Ok. I don't post....well, ever really. I do come here and read at least weekly, although when this thread went up I've come on pretty much every day. I may be the last holdout on here, the one crazy fan left that believes that there's still something there, even though all signs have pretty much dried up. And that's fine with me. Seeing that countdown clock and the banner has me excited, and tomorrow morning I'm hoping for something good. And IF this is a concert announcement, and an actual show is announced, I can say I will be buying a ticket to go. I may be the only one there, and that's fine by me. I have, and forever will be a huge fan of Axl Rose. He can do a tour singing lullabyes for all I care and I'd go. So there's my .02, for what it's worth. Here's hoping for something amazing.

You hit the nail right on the head. I completely agree with every word of your post. You can't make everyone happy. There will always, always be people who will complain about what their favorite musician/movie star/whatever is doing, or not doing. There's a forum for pretty much everything- what people are wearing, what so and so did with their hair, who's fat and who's lost too much weight. No one is ever happy. Bottom line. It's few and far between where you find a diehard fan who is there for everything. Who appreciate the mere fact that this person they admire is doing something, and doesn't give a flying you-know-what about the rest. I think it's always easier to harp on negative things, for whatever reason. It takes nerve to stand up for what you believe in. Because not everyone will always agree with you.

I didn't know whether to add this to the old thread or not. When I checked my mail this afternoon I was really surprised to see this-

#80 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy to be the official theme song of WWE's 'Armageddon' » 865 weeks ago

YES! I heard about this the other day. This is AWESOME exposure. WWE plugs the crap out of their PPVs. The song will get major airplay, and the album will be plugged every time.
