I coach 9 - 12 year old kids and I ALWAYS ask them what kinds of music they like and they tell me a bunch of shit bands and AC/DC . AC/DC is always mentioned and they are without a doubt the #1 answer that young kids say when I ask them who their favorite band is.
Could it be that every album and every song being about the devil, tits n' ass and booze is a bit easier to grasp for a 10-year-old is part of the reason?

Axl has released music to both Guitar Hero and Rock Band in the past...
What old material did he release on Guitar Hero? WTTJ was clearly against his will and SCOM was a cover...
As for Axl being against "selling-out", well we'd have to ask him,
Somebody did. His answer was: "Follow your heart, don't sell out and read every book on the biz u can find."
During the next chats, we'll have to ask him what his definition of selling out is.

I think Axl holding this license is positive. Why do I have the sneaky feeling that if Slash held them, we would have another Kiss on our hands when it comes to branding and merchandise?
Very true! And thank God!!!! Him and his wife would go all Sharon Osbourne and Gene Simmons on the GNR vault of goodies...

well Axl was spotted at a Kiss Concert last week or somthing..maybe he;s takin pointers on how to market the GnR brand to the extreme!
GnR Caskets, GnR Shit Tickets
Hey ya know what would be cool? a GTA style Video game that incorporates the RB/GH peripherals...it could be Reckless Road the Video Game....
Reckless Road the Video Game FTW!!!
Sometimes, and most of the time, I'm glad that Axl is very picky on what GNR put out there. I keep reminding myself on what Tom Zutaut said, that Axl is the only artist he ever worked with who truly is not in it for the money. Kinda confirms for me that Axl is passionate and all about his art!
But at the moment, I'm at wierd place where I would just love to by new products from my favourite band. New allbum, new live DVD/bluray, previous albums on GH/RB etc etc...

Saw them talking about this topic on another site...
"In the most recent message, which was in response to a question we asked about getting Guns N' Roses' classic debut album, Appetite for Destruction, in Rock Band and Guitar Hero, Slash claims that it's less than likely since Axl Rose holds all rights to Guns N' Roses licenses."
http://www.examiner.com/x-25487-Music-V … ver-happen
I didn't know that Axl "holds all rights to Guns N' Roses licenses"
I thought it was more like they (original members) had to be in agreement on it, in order for the songs to be used in movies, games etc etc.
Anyway...
If Axl holds all the licensing-rights but doesn't want to license old material because former members might get paid royalties as songwriters, that's kinda sad for us fans...
What's your guys views on the matter?

Cool interview! Thanx for posting....
#817 Re: Guns N' Roses » Dj Ashba and Dizzy Reed: "We're working on a new album" » 782 weeks ago
Whether or not Ashba can write a killer Guns N' Roses riff is irrelevant - we're never gonna hear it.
Guns N' Roses 2010 is such a joke - what's their newest song? Better? That track is nearly 10 years old.
I just can't wrap my head around the fact that some people think this is a vital band.
Cheer up! Jeez...
I know this site is tolerant to almost every point of view, and that is a good thing in most cases.
I just don't get the mindset of some people.
You wake up and you get all worked up with frustration, and think: "Oh I hate this! Aha!! I know what I'm gonna do! I'll go on the internet and find a messageboard full of people who love this and I'm gonna try and bring them down into my missery"
I don't believe it's possible to be THAT upset over a band! A fucking band!
It's like some people are begging for others to react negative to their hatred, so that the thing that is REALLY bothering them can hopefully take a backseat...
Usually when I read posts from trolls who seem desperate to stear things in a negative direction, I just shake my head and feel bad for them.
A happy, joyfull person with a good job and a spouse and kids who love them don't act this way...
The universe is a mirror, what you put out there is gonna come right back at you. In some way or another....

I don't know what it is but Axls voice sounds better with Slash's guitar and vice versa. Actually I do know what it is. It's pure magic and NOTHING that either of these guys have done without the other has even come close to what they are together.
Or maybe it's just personal preference and unwillingness to accept the fact that a duo you once loved has drifted apart both personally and artistically?

Hopefully Axl has been in London for some "finnishing touches" on the next album....
Weren't a London studio one of the 16 studios (or how many it was...) used on ChiDem?
#820 Re: The Sunset Strip » Kvelertak - a new fucking great band from Norway (video) » 782 weeks ago
Fucking cool!
They released their first album last week, today they debut at #3 on the official chart here in Norway!
They outsold Ozzy and Miley Cyrus, who also released their latest album last week!
If you haven't yet, check them out!
