i am sorry my friend, what you say about opinions is right but, slash doesn't deserve to be in guns n' roses!!!???

i know you are a finck fan, and probably his style suits your preferences, but there would be no guns n' roses without slash. you wouldn't be here on this board without slash. you may not like the man but show a little bit of respect for fuck's sake.

i tried not to respond to your posts praising finck because i liked the man the first time i've seen him on stage (rir 2001, on tv not on location tongue) but you're way over the line with that comment.

why is everybody going back to this period of time when comparing how things are now? why would i want to compare the current situation with the worst period of time? why not compare it to the best times? 87-92? why not try to look how far up it could go, not how low?
can general interest be regained? yes! how? release the fucking thing already? what's so fucking hard?

You can't compare this era of GNR to 87-92, it's two different animals.  I reason I bring up that silent period is because it's THIS era of GNR and for this era of GNR now is the best time they had since we never heard from Axl again after that very short tour, well we heard from him in that press release about BH, other then that absolutely nothing.  So these two years are the most active this band has been since then.

i can see where you're coming from but, if you're going to go with the name, i will compare it to everything that guns n' roses means. if you want them to be great again push them up, not whenever they are mediocre pat them on the back and say "hey, at least we got something and it wasn't 03-05 again". i won't do that. because i want them to get back out and release an album and tour while there's still people who care.

dude a reunion would be so fucking lame.    that lineup lived its life..  and seeing them get back together would totally cheapen their legacy.    some things are better left in the past and besides, the band is fine as it is now and doesn't need some guys who walked out on it years ago.

i don't necessarily wish for a reunion. but axl is taking so long to release the record and i'm slowly running out of patience. i like the new songs or else i wouldn't be here. but i have been "liking" the "new" songs for 6-7 years now. give the guys the opportunity to be great. taking them on tour with no promotion, nobody knowing who they are, everybody thinking they are replacements for slash & co. because 500.000 to 700.000 rock fans in europe only know guns n' roses for the albums they own not for the leaks won't help too much

i think monkeychow said it best on the first page, the problem is if there's no axl on stage nobody can take his place and make people look at the said person in the band. axl is the rock legend and the other guys are only some musicians in the eyes of the large audience. they don't have a resume that's strong and people don't know them enough so they won't give them a chance. sure, i know the bands they all played in, but i'm not the ordinary rock fan.

when the old band was on stage people were like oh, there's axl; oh, there's slash; oh there's duff; oh there's izzy. now they're more like oh, there's axl; oh, there's some dude with long hair and a beard that i've never seen in my life, where's axl? bucket had that touch when he was on board i think but the rest of the people? not to dish robin (it was just an example) but people need to know this band. they need to associate this band with an album and at least a video to meet the new guys. and if the music is good they'll get support.

look at the bootlegs, out of a 2 hour show, how many minutes do you see pitman or frank? 1 minute together when axl walks by their spot. when axl is on stage everybody looks at him. hell, there was a nov rain on a bootleg when i wanted to see richard doing the solo and the camera was on axl sitting at the piano.

anyway, i've seen the new band live only once and i enjoyed the show because i knew what i was going to get. and i saw axl upclose and it was the best rock show i've seen. it was great seeing all the guys and i hope they get the album out sometime in my lifetime. but if there's a reunion i won't lose sleep over it given the current situation we're in.

i'll buy it as soon as amazon makes it available.

hell, put all the songs on a bulk cd and write the titles with a marker on the cd, put said cd in an envelope and i'll buy it. don't care anymore how it's packaged, don't care about the cover, don't care if there's lyrics on the cover (i'll make up my owm if i don't understand some parts 16 ) just put it out and i'll buy it

#828 Re: Guns N' Roses » Another Year Almost Gone By » 923 weeks ago

another year gone, and the closest thing to a gnr release was the slash book.
i feel we're supporting this band based on nothing. but we're still here.
it doesn't matter anymore. i think nobody cares who's to blame and the fans are finally giving axl what he wanted: indifference. he can do whatever he wants, we'll probably wait and live our lives in the meantime. this year had shows but they passed and i didn't even get excited. in 2006 i watched the rio show online at 3am and i couldn't believe they are back, now almost 2 years gone, and i'm still listening to 10 tracks in different stages of mixing or live versions (i'm listening to the blues leak and i still "sing" the "ok, nevermind" part from rir3 smile ). maybe we'll hear it next year, maybe we won't, but there's too many of us that get excited whenever axl promises something. whatever. whenever it's coming out i'll buy it, but i'm disappointed.

man, when i read the first part of the title on the front page i got excited again. then, after seeing the complete title i asked myself: "why do i still fall for this every damn time?". amazon uk, who cares, they had it on their preorder for years now. feb will turn to july that will turn to nov then it's feb again.
and the fact that it says pre-order now doesn't mean more money for them because amazon charges at the moment they actually ship the item.
