I guess if Axl & Slash are alive, it could still work with all replacements, but at least do what The Eagles did. At least kick out one double album for one of the "big 'uns" pass away. I'm sure when The Eagles did "Last Road Out of Eden", they didn't know that Glenn would be dead in a few years.
A better Eagles comparison would be Hell Freezes Over. Unload a Not In This Lifetime album that is a concert with two new songs. Both new songs on HFO were hit singles. .
I'd love new music but jesus christ not another live album.
What's going to be sonically different from that? No overdubs, The Seeker, and a vocally weaker Axl? Barf.

I thought a public admission of Slash and Duff leaving was pretty interesting.
As was a relative glossing over the Chinese era.
have they been filming all the shows for this tour?
I'm pretty sure they've filmed all shows since 2002.
There's no way they'd make a video, in that way, just to announce more dates. They've added dates time and again, and never made a video for it.
False. They've done it several times, in fact.

I've been listening to Dawn of the Deli Creeps as of late.
Really great stuff, some of Bucket's best work. I hadn't really given it a proper listen in awhile.

Re-announcing the US tour and announcing some Los Angeles dates close to the AFD anniversary.

James Lofton wrote:I agree with wagzilla....they're not going to add new GNR and/or current GNR to any old remaster/box set/whatever. There's less than zero reason to do it.
But then what is the hook for the new tour? Maybe if they change the setlist to the whole of AFD or something? There need to be able to return to the same tour markets with a fresh show/product. I figure a new song does it easily. Plus you could always add in a CD song and package it with AFD to annoy purists.
You're overlooking the most beloved of all corporate principles: laziness.
If the tour isn't selling you'll start seeing more promotion, that's it. Otherwise, business as usual and they'll be satisfied with diminishing returns.

An Appetite 30th would move units, sure, but I don't think old AFD demos are particularly interesting to a larger audience.
I think you're more likely to get old fans with live stuff than those demos. Especially because GN'R was such a great live act back in the day.
Then again Nirvana got a box set then an individual CD the following year. I'm probably wrong.

Rock in Rio 3 was 2001
Rock in Rio 2006 was Rock in Rio Lisboa 2006
Rock in Rio 4 was 2011
Their naming structure is fucky
Rock in Rio 3 was awesome
That is all

My only gripe is why the guy only saves his best voice for AC/DC songs. I don't understand why GNR shows get the cleaned up newer voice meanwhile AC/DC shows get Axl Rose circa 1992? Actually I do understand why but it still bugs me.
I still don't entirely buy this.
I buy it because he's playing novel songs he hasn't sung 500 times. That said, AC/DC is a lot of short burst higher register stuff. I'm not saying it doesn't have it's moments but it's not UYI or CD level of vocal complexity.
Whatever, who cares. Fuck it. Lighters up.

I've always been a pro Axl guy and basically give him benefit of the doubt on anything. I'm not even saying anything scandalous.
I'll revise my statement because I thought you were simply trolling.
Axl did the popular thing so he's more popular. Simple. But he could've probably enjoyed greater success, collaborated with other artists, and so forth from 2001-2014 had he had a decent therapist, been on some meds, or just simply been in a better mood.
As far as playing with Billy Joel, I'm unmoved either way. But playing with Fergie in a diamond studded top hat? Jesus, man.

It's nice to see Axl out there.
Kind of amazing how as soon as Axl gets back with Slash his public approval rating skyrockets.
Reductive.
