Cheers for that

I quite like Robins solo but you're right, it kinda drowns some of the cool stuff underneath. Especially the harp!

OK, I'm still dubstruck this has actually happened. Awesome for him to do. OK, here are some questions I can think of, not really related to music. Quite a few - mods feel free to pick any if he 'pops up' and I'm not around, I would love just one answer!

What albums are you waiting for? ;-)

Outside of touring, have you travelled the world and if so what have you learnt from your experiences? Where was your favorite place? Have you had the opportunity to talk to people who don't know you as Axl the rock star? Did this change your outlook on life?

I seem to remember you visited China a while back with the band (is this correct?). Was this before or after you decided on the name the album? When was the moment that 'Chinese Democracy' came into your head as the title? And did you have any other names?

Do you still collect crucifixes? What is it about them that draws you to them? And was wearing them upside down a statement?

What are your favorite musical scores? Would you be interested in writing one and if so, what type of movie would most interest you. Maybe you would like to direct a movie aka Rob Zombie?

Alive or dead, who are the 5 people you'd most like to share a dinner party with (I know this is kinda tacky!)

Obviously you have one of the most recognisable and distinct voices on the planet? Do you have to practice hard to keep it up, and do you see your voice changing in the next few years?

Are you in music for life and what could you see yourself doing when you're older if you want to continue?

What is the best advice anyone gave you?

What music do you HATE?

Was there ever a time previously when Chinese Democracy came close to release? If so why was the plug pulled?

Putting aside all of your history for a minute, could we ever see an official release of 'Live at the Ritz' or the 'Use Your Illusion' movie that was intended for cinema release? Or the Its So Easy promo Video? I really feel the official Live at Tokyo vids never really captured the essence of the old band.

Cheers, Axl!

Okay, so everyone follow me here. I'm going to take a stab at something he said. He mentioned that maybe CD would get another release, as he wasnt happy with artwork, etc. He also mentioned that he always thought of CD as a double album. He also mentions maybe the follow up may be out late next year...

Okay, so what are the chances that the next album is released as a double album, with CD being on of the cds released as he wanted it, and the other being the follow up.

Maybe I have just spent too much time this morning thinking about the Axl chat last night. Or maybe I'm on too something?

I think thats quite logical. Got me thinking two things

1. When the exclusive is over at BB, more copies will be printed with new artwork/booklet for other distributions
2. They will wait until they sell out of all copies of the one format of artwork (I suppose Best Buy could sell them on at a loss to help with their cash flow)
3. I will have to fork out again!

Yeah, I caught the 'same bat time, same bat channel comments'. The good news is that if he did think of it as a double album, there's a great chance that the next cd is complete. 3

I keep thinking of Dexter's laboratory, that animated cartoon that used to be on!

It was very cool, luckily enough I was there!

#845 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose/Dexter forum chat discussion thread » 874 weeks ago

I don't want a reunion until I at least get the rest of the music he has created. And right now I'd probably be just as excited to see Buckethead back. What he did today was very cool IMO.

#846 Re: Guns N' Roses » What song(s) have grown on you the most? » 874 weeks ago

Surprisingly enough, IRS. Never really cared much for the song, but when I hear it on the album now I get quite pumped up. Have the done something diffrent in the final mix?

Shacklers Revenge, Sorry have both grown on me too.

Very good point Olorin. To quote this month's Classic Rock (8/10 review of Chinese Democracy BTW), Axl is the BEST rock star in the world and he could shift a whole load of CDs off the shelves if only he decided to share some of his personality and story with the world.

#848 Re: Guns N' Roses » CD #1 Worldwide » 874 weeks ago

Maybe Axl should move to Europe.

#849 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy UNDER 300,000 copies sold first week? » 875 weeks ago

No suprises there (UK Charts) - The Killers are adored by many over here

Anyone know how many units they shifted in the UK

Myself included I know of 5 copies that have been bought!

They are probably trying to edit Bucket, Brain or Robin out of a video they filmed years ago
