WHAT?!? Michael BAY is making the Jason movie?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

It'll be interesting to see how he makes Jason explode...  probably multiple times.

I don't know why this just popped into my head, but I'm wondering if the band even had anything to do with this, or if it's purely record company, and the first of many ways that are coming to recoup 15 Million dollars (or whatever that ridiculous number was).

Does anybody know, does Rock Band or Guitar Hero either one contract with certain major labels, or are they just songs from whatever source they can get them?

WHAT IS NEXT?  A GNR SINGLE IN A CRACKER JACK BOX?

That'd be awesome.  I'm much more apt to buy cracker jacks than Rock Band.

Was that a fat guy thing to say?

and about the stealing material, if the comedian makes me laugh, i don't care where the joke comes from.

I don't know, Part of me gets what you guys are saying because for a lot of people, listening to people tell jokes is just an escape, but...

Since this is a GNR forum I'll use this example:

What if Sheryl Crowe had been passing off Sweet Child O' Mine as her own song?  Would that be ok because it's a good song?

It's pretty much the same thing.

To paraphrase Doug Stanhope:  Comedy has no respect as an art form.  There's no other form of entertainment where you just show up with no idea what's going to go on.
You'd never go, "Hey you wanna go see a concert?",  "Who's playin?", "Who cares, let's just go".
You'd never walk into a movie theater and say  "Give me two tickets to... whatever's closest."
Comedy clubs are too often used as an adult Chucky Cheese for all occasions

I also want to add Dave Attell and Sean Rouse to the list of favorites, because they rule, and pretty much nobody's heard of Sean Rouse.

Mitch Hedberg and Dane Cook.

YES, I've heard all the accusations that Dane Cook steals material and so on; I don't care. I still think he's hilarious.

I saw a comparison of two bits on youtube about the material stealing.  I think whether you're a fan or not it's interesting to listen to.  That said, I'm a big Louis C.K. fan, so I'm pretty biased too.

My problem with him really doesn't have much to do with that though.  I simply think that he thinks he's much funnier than he actually is.  That's very offputting to me.  I'm not sure why exactly, and I've tried to explain it to is fans before but I don't really know if I got my point across or not.

That said, what you think is funny is all that matters in the end.  It's just like music, not everything is for everybody.

Also, don't some of these games have hidden tracks?  I don't have any idea, but I thought I heard that somewhere.  What are the odds of it being on the game if it's not announced?

I couldn't see them not announcing this one if it's on there just because of the buzz it would generate, but you can't really apply normal logic to this situation after this long.

#877 Re: Guns N' Roses » Shackler's Revenge: REALLY confirmed » 885 weeks ago

The problem is, once this waiting is done, then comes the waiting to hear when it's released in a way that someone (me) who isn't going to buy Rock Band can hear it/own it.

Then the waiting to see if there's actually an anouncement about an album release to actually go with the promo.

Then the waiting to see if that release date actually happens or is just BS like it's been before.

A Tom Petty song is suddenly in my head.

What Randall said. (Stanhope)  ... and by the way, it's great to see another Stanhope fan around.

Then What C.C. said (Hedberg)

Then Louis C.K.

Then there are the classics who those guys wouldn't exist without.  Carlin, Pryor, Bruce, Kinison, etc.  I generally like the guys that actually have something to say.

i wonder if they forced him to retire at the end of last season?

No. He has been contemplating retirement for about three years. They just got pissed he bailed after a good season, they start preparing for the post Favre era, and here he comes making demands.

I understand their frustration, but they gotta get over it and just let him move on. Pulling a Barry Sanders on him will be a massive mistake and has repercussions for the entire league.

Wouldn't be surprised if the commish steps in behind the scenes.

He is claiming he was at least partially forced though.  I guess pressured would be a better word actually.  I think he should have been though.  He dicked them around for months the last few years, and I think this is their revenge.

He's asking for his unconditional release, I don't think there's any way the Packers will do that (if I'm not mistaken he's actually got three years left on his contract).  I just assumed it was because they would want to see what they can get in a trade for him, but then I saw on ESPN if he hasn't reported by the end of July, the Packers can start fining him.  They're gonna get some money one way or another.

I had a co-worker(who's a Packer's fan) in the car with me when they announced that on the radio.  His loud indignant swearing response to how ridiculous it is was worth a million damn dollars.
