Has there been any sort of spoiler that tells if the dude playing Destro will end up with a silver head? That Snake Eyes costume is so dead on he would pretty much have to I would think.

I'll go ahead and third that.
Honestly almost anybody else that they could pick I would be interested in. I just have always thought Baz would be a bad decision for multiple reasons.
Given, that comes from a guy who never really liked Skid Row/Baz, so it's kind of obvious I feel that way. But that said, I don't really like Tool/Perfect Circle either, but if they said they were working with Maynard James Keenan I'd be intrigued. Baz offered nothing interesting to me.

True, but Axl is a smart guy.He knows Live Era was a huge turnoff to not only casual but hardcore fans. The whole thing is a clusterfuck besides just the credits, and never should have been released.
Surely he has learned from that mistake.
How many mistakes has Axl made that we would assume he's learned from and it doesn't seem that he has though?
I, not too long ago, made the joke to some friends that I wonder if they even know for sure who does what on what track at this point.
In all seriousness I would expect a Use Your Illusion style booklet like has been said, but you never know what could be up people's sleeves at this point.

Listen, I don't understand how they do it either (industry wide) and I agree that Slash should have definitely got something for Estranged. Jorge, my words on Coma and Locomotive were a bit over the top because those are obviously great great rock instrumentals-two of my all time favs. But, I love the effects and lyrics that Axl put to Coma. I truly think it was his shining moment lyrically. And, I just love it when those chicks are bitchin at him and then the last one goes "I love You." Being a Pink Floyd fan as well, I dig over the top production and effects.....sometimes!:peace:
Naah, I was pretty sure I got where you were coming from, but I felt like it had to be said, especially with the two songs you mentioned.... just one of those things.
As far as industry wide, you're right. I remember Newstead bitching about the same thing with some Metallica songs. Not every band does it, but a shitload do, and I disagree with it most of the time...
Maybe that's just because it's coming from a drummer though. Ha.

Locomotive and Coma are all Axl lyrics. Please, those songs are made by the great lyrics
I totally disagree with that.
The lyrics are damn good, don't get me wrong. I don't mean this as "Axl bashing" at all, but those are two of the best instrumental tracks in the history of Gn'R in my mind. On every level what everyone brought to the table on those two songs is brilliant. Even the parts that are fairly simple for the most part (the bass line in Coma for example) are exactly what the song called for.
Those two songs (and I would argue those two albums) are a great example of a band clicking on all cylinders to me.
Were there arguements/disagreements about things... absolutely. I'll tell you what though, after reading Slash's book, I would love to hear the mix of them without all the layers of synth that Slash talked about. I dig the albums as they stand, but I'd like to see what that was all about.
Edit:I read Madagas's post a few above mine now, and see where he's coming from, but I still don't agree with it. The best example I could give is the simple fact that Slash deserves a writing credit for Estranged. That solo is basically a melody.

The best Cliche/Spinal Tap moment I ever saw in person:
I saw the Stones on the Bridges To Babylon tour. The stage was MASSIVE. At one point during the show the lights come up, Mick takes the pretty long walk from the back of the stage near or behind the drum riser clear up to the front where his mic is. He gets there, stops, turns around, walks back to the back of the stage, talks to someone, then comes back to his his mic again. The says "HELLO MADISON."
The realization that he had no idea where he was until he asked someone was fantastic to me.
I don't know if it's a cliche or not, but I considered it a funny Spinal Tap moment as well since I'm on the subject. One of the Appetite monsters popped and deflated during the set on the GN'R/Metallica tour in Indianapolis. I don't know if anybody else remembers when Spinal Tap was on The Simpsons, but it hadn't happened much before that, and my friends and I flashed right to it... "All hail our half inflated dark lord."

another thing i dont understand..why do you have to pick a side? I'm not saying you have to like slash's material at all here...but personally for me they are 2 separate people and now in to totally separate bands and i enjoy both equally....its not about "sides"
For the same reason American Idol's a number one show. Even though they're singing songs that if they came on the radio you'd break your arm trying to change the station in time. People want something to root for, they want to be able to say their side's winning. Whether it makes sense logically or not.
#928 Re: Guns N' Roses » Weiland identifies with Axl - RollingStone » 895 weeks ago
Exactly! NOW he "identifies" with Axl and yet he was calling him a fat bald man a couple years ago and dressing up like him on Halloween. I really can't give this man the time of day to listen to what he has to say now.
That Axl costume was pretty fantastic though.
He actually called the rest of the guys "lead singer haters" during that interview on Stern too.
#929 Re: The Garden » So when will you be getting your rebate? » 895 weeks ago
Goddamnit. Now you guys have me really wanting one of those Yamaha kits!!
Are they way less expensive then the Rolands?
That specific one is $1000. I thought it seemed better than the roland at that price range. If you moved up to the $1500 one I thought the Roland seemed better though(the Yamaha is the same module as the $1000, but with some better pads).
Then the highest end Yamaha (that I saw anyway) ran about $3000, while Roland upper end Roland's had, I think, about 3 price points slightly lower or higher than that.
Another big thing that made me go with the Yamaha is that I read that all of their drum sounds are sampled/recorded actual drum sounds, whereas the Rolands are completely electronically produced sounds.
I'm not sure about the lowest end kits (the Roland is $750, and the yamaha is $700), I only looked at them long enough to see that the next step up wasn't much more espensive.
Hope that helps.

I apparently can't get the rebate because I'm living outside the States right now. Sucks cause I could always use an extra 600 bucks.

I was one of the people who last I had heard it was June though, so this is good news.
What'd you get, man? I've got a set of Roland V-Drums that I really like (well, I like them as much as I can possibly like a substitute for real accoustic drums, anyway.)
I got the yamaha DTXpress IV, I had been kicking around the idea for a while, but with the extra money coming (plus musician's friend had free shipping and no interest financing until the end of April) I just went ahead and ordered it.
I had been going back and forth between the Roland and Yamaha for a while, but went with the Yamaha, based largely on this video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ovl8KoWpC6k&feature=related
