More than underrated, the Illusions are Guns defining album, bruised egos and all. I see YCBM on a semi-regular basis on Metal Mania. Still badass to this day.

Cradle of Filth - "English Fire" - One of the better tracks off Nymphetamine, itself an underrated album.

Wednesday 13 - "Faith in the Devil" - Catchy tune off Wednesday's second solo album, Fang Bang. The second album has a lot more punk and a lot less glam metal going on. I haven't decided if that works for or against it.

The Smashing Pumpkins - "Pomp and Circumstances" - Decent enough, as far as slow Pumpkins songs go, but not a track I tend to play a lot on its own.

Paul Stanley - "Wake Up Screaming" - Pretty badass rocker off Paul Stanley's latest solo album.

Harry Manfredini & Michael Zager - "Introduction to Horror" - I have a lot of rare horror scores in my playlist. Friday the 13th Part III, aside from being the best entry in the series, also nabs best score in my opinion.

monkeychow, I was there for that argument. It was one of my last visits to the site before I totally abandoned ship. I have nothing against Jarmo as a person. We keep in touch on MySpace, but I don't care for what his site's become and I've told him that. It is what it is.

#965 Re: Guns N' Roses » Pop Quiz: What band? » 893 weeks ago

Von

haha Yes. Clearly, I'm a fan. I even title the episodes in my ongoing Burning Flagg script series after specific Sisters songs and albums.

First and Last and Always is the leaner, AFD of the Sisters' catalogue. Floodland is the epic Illusions. Vision Thing could even be Chinese Democracy. By that point, Eldritch had become the band and married the epic sounds of Floodland with a more contemporary edge, contrasting songs like "More" with "Detonation Boulevard." I know it's more clever to view the Sisters' eventual next album as their CD, at least in comparison, but I think a good case could be made for Vision Thing already fitting that description, albeit without the decade plus wait. My favorite Sisters album, personally, may in fact be Vision Thing. It's a tough call, because I also love Floodland. Just like with GN'R, my musical sensibilities connect far less with an album like First and Last and Always, and yet I still love it. "No Time to Cry" fucking owns. I can't believe some of you never heard of them! Check this out....

I've been excited for this. I'm a fan of Aja's. Out of the spate of recent horror remakes, two of them actually had balls and delivered. One of them was Aja's The Hills Have Eyes (the other was Zombie's Halloween ... yeah, blow it out your ass).

God, you even beat me in confirming the answer! There was like five more fucking posts while I wrote mine. haha Well, anyway ... yeah.

#968 Re: Guns N' Roses » Pop Quiz: What band? » 893 weeks ago

It is The Sisters of Mercy. I knew that as soon as I read the first post, but a couple of you guys beat me to the post. Andrew Eldritch aka von, the bone daddy Axl Rose.

I respect that you added the better half of UYI, though why many of you continue to divide them into halves I don't truly comprehend. Oh, and White Zombie. Classic album. Nice nod there.

STP's best 90s album, in my opinion, was Tiny Music. Their best album overall is Shangri-La Dee Da.

I will make a list of my own to join yours in eternal combat. Soon....

It's all shit news. The only person suited to remaking Clive Barker is Barker himself. Bousman's Repo! better pan out for him, because so far he's offered nothing as an original talent for me to have any faith in a project he might find himself attached to. What's he done besides franchise sequels and remakes of other works? And please, for the love of god, don't attempt to remake Cronenberg. And if you do attempt to remake Cronenberg, do it with someone of his caliber, not this guy.
