Also Neemo, you totally nailed my favorite scene from Young Guns to start this thread.

I was too busy giggling about "When will then be now" to point that out before.

I would assume Cleveland will keep Quinn for at least this year, that way they have more left in case what Anderson was able to do last year was some kind of fluke.

I think they would probably be better off adding to the team with the pieces they could get for him, but NFL teams seem to like to have that insurance factor there.

I have what is probably a problem (or just that I'm a huge dork) where if anyone asks when something is, I reply:

"When will then be now?"

from Spaceballs.

If someone near me is cool enough, they know to reply "Soon".

hey how is that pride and glory album? how's it rate with sonic brew or mafia?

same with book of shadows? and which of the two is more of a "must have"

I've always described Pride and Glory as Black Sabbath meets Lynyrd Skynyrd.  It's fantastic.

I really don't think you will ever find a better chill out album than Book of Shadows though.  It just showcases some fantastic songwriting.

Like Pride&Glory said, it's kind of completely different animals, but I don't think you would be disappointed with either one.

-And by the way P&G, thanks for posting all the youtube vids.  At least I think thanks, I sorta wanted to accomplish some things for the last hour or so, but I didn't.  It was awesome though.

#975 Re: The Sunset Strip » Overrated Bands » 904 weeks ago

Two bands that I've always thought were overrated... and have been hearing my whole life how wrong I am...  Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

Basically with the same arguements that other people have said with The Beatles Stones U2, etc.  It's not that I think they're bad, and I can acknowledge the effect they've both had on music since.  I've just never gotten a huge hard-on for either one, and I've went my whole life with people telling me how great they are.

(As far as Zeppelin goes, all that said, I love the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page Live at the Greek album, I really just don't like Robert Plant that much)

#976 Re: The Sunset Strip » The "LOST" thread » 905 weeks ago

I think the "What the hell is going on" is exactly why we're not talking about it.

There's just too much to take in.  I mean, this show has always been that way, but especially now where they've switched to the flash forwards there's just so much more left hanging.  It stays consistently good though, that's all that matters.

CC since you are a big BM fan I thought you would like to know this. The song 'Throwin' it all Away" By Zakk Wylde on his Book of Shadows solo album is about Shannon Hoon. He and Zakk were good friends.

Wow, I'm a huge Blind Melon fan and a huge Zakk fan and I had never heard that.  Thanks for the info.

Nice a Black Crowes thread. I had seen them back at the end of September & was all ready to write a big review, but ROV just happenned to get shutdown at that time. Anyways, it was an amazing show & Chris Robinson can sing with the best of them. Is Luther Dickenson now a member of the band? I thought he had just helped out in the studio, but that article makes it seem as though he's in.

Other then Chris, Rich & Steve I'm getting the impression that people that are available are gonna flesh out the group from here out. Which is fine by me for the record.

Yeah, it's definitely their band, and the rest of the spots have been a bit of a revolving door through most of their career anyway.

Although I saw Marc Ford solo this summer, and that was a really good show...  What the Crowes would sound like if they were a bit more of a jam band and didn't have as good of a singer.

March 4 huh...  Well, that's two records I need to buy that day.

Do you guys prefer Layne without AIC (Mad Season) or Jerry's solo stuff (Boggy Depot, Degradation Trip)?

Mad Season is good, but those Cantrell records are fantastic.  I also think you need the full 2-disc set to get the whole feel of Degradation Trip.  I don't think the abridged version gets it done.

#980 Re: The Sunset Strip » New Guitar Hero Game Announced » 905 weeks ago

I think this is just a new way to try to sell music as the industry move further down the shitter.

Guitar Hero is basically a medium all it's own at this point it's so huge, and this'll get kids who might not go out and buy some albums, but are looking for something new for their Guitar Hero into Aerosmith.

Although, it does kinda bring up images of that South Park Guitar Hero episode for me.
