This has always been my favorite song. This performace I've got on a shitty VHS back in '96 and it was one of the most shocking moments of my GN'R fandom:
Slash is a MONSTER on this one! A string breaks and he continues to solo and the tension between Slash, Duff and Axl to get the song right is just phenomenal.
In closing:

Izzy waited and, even on his communication, told he was "waiting for how this hof thing would go" and then released it. He waited for Axl and then released his.
I don't think any of them are fake bitches. I think what both of them did was remaining true to their beliefs.
How is any different between them for you, D?

Never thought I'd get to this, but the main highlight of the night, to me is STEVEN POP CORN ADLER.

So can someone sum up what happened?
Just got home... thread has exploded 30 plus pages since I saw it last and no way Im digging through all this.
Green Day speech was basically Slash, Slash, then Axl got booed and Billie Joe defended him.
Duff speech was short and sweet.
Matt's was shameful.
Slash's was nice.
Steven's was the best! REALLY.
they performed Browsntone, Sweetchild and PC with Myles singing. Matt played drums on Brownstone, steven the others. Gilby on rhythm.

Is there a transcription anywhere of what Billie Joe said abut Axl?

Mikkamakka:
I REALLY think they should play. Really. And I think Axl should be there.
I just think they shouldn't do it with anyone related to their current projects.
So, instead of Myles, any high profile vocalist would be great and it would be an altogether different, and in my point of view, therefore valid, experience.

My point is that everybody who understands or agrees with Axl is being attacked. It's like HTGTH times -1. I think Myles should be nowhere near Gn'R induction because he doesn't have ANYTHING to do with GnR.
It would be a whole different scenario if they invited a really special guest on this, being it Fergie or Billie Joe or WHOEVER that doesn't relate to any current project of any member of Gn'R. THAT'S MY SECOND POINT.
Another thing is: why is Slash allowed to bring his current members to GnR induction and why isn't Axl allowed to do the same? Double standards of the hoF? perhaps, we'll never know but it doesn't seem right to me.
I have no problem with the guys performing, I just wish it was REALLY a celebration of the past, but once you involve current members, it gets different.
