If I could be a bitter small market fan for a second, I also really enjoyed this weekend because I really think that if Fitzpatrick had put up the numbers he had last year on another team (or if he'd been a high draft pick) he'd have been of as much media interest as Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, or Tony Romo. Sanchez played decent but any notion of Cassel being a better quarterback than Fitzpatrick are surely dead, and I would never trade him for Romo. Romo's 31, has never won in the playoffs with allegedly one of the most talented teams of the past ten years, and makes a lot of big mistakes. He can take that team to the playoffs but he's never going to be elite. The Cowboys will always be looking up to Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.

The sad part about Romo is he plays really well game in and game out and puts up pretty awesome numbers BUT when it matters most he fucks up. Now he's not all to blame cause the special teams did allow the Jets to block that punt and return it for a touchdown but had Romo not fumbled the ball on the Jets 1 yard line the Cowboys win that game. Had Romo not thrown that INT with the game on the line they at least get to overtime with a chance to win but instead he gave the Jets perfect field position to win the game. It's just so fucked up. The guy's got talent, he's got skill, he's good but he just blows up at the most critical times. So infuriating.  Like why can't he fumble the ball in the third quater at mid field or throw that INT in the second quater when the game isn't on the line? Because it's not his style. His style is to fuck it up when the team can afford it the least. Honestly when he fumbled on the Jets goal line I just said to myself quietly "Typical"

Tony Sporano needs to be fired yesterday.  Period.

The defense couldn't tackle.  They were in poor conditioning (AT HOME) and kept leaving the game and couldn't run becase of the cramping.  And guess what? They drop their most experienced CB, Will Allen, when he agreed to take a pay cut to stay on the team.  Then you lose your best DB's and have no one but rookies who can't cover shit, out there against Brady.

The worst is that Sporano tried to be positive on the game when you allowed Brady to put up 500 yards on you.  Jesus Christ.

The Bears should have been in the superbowl last year. Seriously. That one fluke INT for a TD ruined it. It's no surprise to me they're playing the way they are.  Cutler is the perfect QB for the Martz system

Damn!!!! Brady 517yds and 4 td's! insanity

in other news....i hate fantasy football 16

I'm in 4 leagues this year and have Brady in 2 of them.  I won those matchups obviously, due in large part to Tom's big day.  My other 2 leagues I had Matt Ryan, and his 0 TD's resulted in losses.  You know what they say, it's a quarterback league.

I watched Red Zone for the first time all Sunday and it might be the most fantastic invention of all time.  Shows you all the scoring action from the games in real time, and no commercials.  No need to change the channel, just sit back and enjoy the ride.  Great for fantasy and betting purposes.  Of course, if there's a single game that you have a rooting interest in, then you do what you gotta do.  But with the Patriots being off until Monday, it was like heaven.

Jay Cutler did look damn good, and that was a pretty impressive showing for the Bears.  Cam Newton looked unexpectedly great.  However, it appears the offenses are WAY ahead of the defenses league wide, except in KC of course.  So I wouldn't expect Brady to average 500 yards a game, or Cam 400, or teams being able to throw up and down the field against the Jets.  I think the defenses will eventually catch up.  But early on here, watch out.

Oh and Romo.  Man!  I've stuck up for him over the years.  But that might have been the last straw.  Bono is right, he puts up great numbers.  He's a great fantasy QB.  He just seems to make every wrong decision when it matters most.  He, and the Cowboys, looked like a Super Bowl contender for about 55 minutes Sunday night.  They were DOMINATING the Jets, and then the completely collapsed.  Romo was obviously the main culprit and deserves most of the blame.  He certainly wasn't alone in the mistake department though.  As bad as Romo is in the clutch though, he's probably still a top 10 QB in the league, so it's tough to shift gears away from him.

well i am still realatively new to football..this year my plan in the fantasy league was to load up on WR's...we'll see how it pans out. but yeah faldor i think i agree loading up on a great QB is the way to go based on past performances

i had full intentions on taking brady this year actually but i totally misjudged the amount of picks between my 2nd round and my 3rd round being as i was the 11th pick in the 12 team league...ah well the season is young smile

Romo has always been suspect imo...cutler is good but he seems bit of a wild card as well...this year is Rivers turn to take it to the next level...we'll see if he can do it smile

Oh trust me, I've been playing fantasy football for about 10 years now and I've yet to figure it out.  Some years I have good teams, some years bad.  There's a lot of luck involved.  RB's used to dominate, but now so many teams are using multiple backs that the position can be a bit of a crapshoot.  Plus, the rules have become so QB friendly that it's such a passing league now.  And in our league, loading up on WR's isn't a crazy idea, since we do have to start 3.  It's just a matter of picking the right ones.

My strategy this year was to try to draft one of the elite QB's, as last year I had to play matchups with guys like Kyle Orton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Jon Kitna.  That wasn't fun.  If you get an elite guy, you can just stick him in the lineup and only worry about a backup during his bye week.  Unfortunately, in 2 leagues the run on QB's didn't allow me to get an elite guy so I had to settle with Matt Ryan.  Now, he's still a good QB, but he's definitely not in the first tier.  You can't have your QB throw for NO TD's and expect to win.

Could be worse though.  A friend of mine drafted Peyton Manning and Matt Cassel this year.  Ouch!  He's got a lot of catching up to do.

That's funny, my suicide league I had the Browns to beat the Bengals... also ended poorly for me. Week 1 was full of surprises as it always is. I thought the Bills would win but didn't see the blowout coming at all, that was a shock. St. Louis and the Chiefs are in big trouble, and obviously Indy needs Peyton pretty bad. Also didn't think Chicago would be so dominant against Atlanta.

I picked the Browns too.  That pissed me off when they lost.  In a suicide points league, I picked the Cards and am still alive for that one.

You know I really want to like Romo but he just makes mistakes at the wrong times.  I still remember that one time in a playoff game where he botched the snap on the potential game winning field goal.  He's great for fantasy but for real life purposes he's frustrating as hell to watch.  He has all the skills too to be great.

The Chiefs stink and will probably be in last place in the AFC West.  Seattle and Indy look like they are leaders in the Suck for Luck campaign.

I think the Bears still lack a good offensive line and WR although I could be wrong about that.

Regarding Sparano, weren't the Dolphins very interested in Harbaugh this offseason.

The guy who has Manning and Cassel this year is screwed.  Manning won't play and Cassel pretty much stinks.  I'd be combing the WW for QB's.

Wow Cowboys! Wow! Way to fucking blow that game. FIRST TIME EVER the Dallas Cowboys have blown a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter to lose(241 - 0 -1 going into tonight with a 14 point 4th quarter lead) and for anyone who watched that game you know as well as I do that they tried their fucking hardest to lose it that's for sure. New season same old shit.

im right there with ya, man.

the vikings are now 0-2.

in both games they led by 17 points.

when you have the best rb in the game you don't squander games like that.

they're total points in both second halves = 3!!!!!

I know last week myself as well as everyone else was all over Romo for throwing(literally) that game away last week but this week holy shit did he man up! He tossed for over 300 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's,  lead the team back from down 10 with 7:00 left in the 4th, had the best QB rating of the week and he did it all with broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Say what any of us wants to about his ability in the clutch but the guy proved he's tough as nails. He now has 10 4th quarter comebacks in his career.

Cowboys should be 2-0  17

1-1 is better than 0-2 though that's for damn sure.
