Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread
Roddy, Julio, and Gonzalez should be a cluster fuck for every team to cover... They'll get clicking soon.
Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread
Give the Bears time.
I don't know who The Pats are playing next week, but I already feel bad for them. Brady will be a beast. And Faldor, 3 of those INT's were total freak accidents. If they didn't happen, the Bills don't win. It's not like you're rooting for the Dolphins.
*grumbles*
Pats travel to Oakland to play the Raiders, who just beat the Jets. So it won't be easy.
True, only one of the INT's was really Brady's fault. But that one INT was pretty bad. He completely tried to force the ball to Gronkowski. He had no business throwing that ball. He had a bad 2nd half, for his standards, which admittedly are pretty high.
I'm certainly not worried about Tom, or the offense. I'm sure they'll be just fine and continue to put up 30+ a game. It's the defense I'm worried about, and rightfully so. They're giving up yards by the boatload. Chad Henne lit them up. San Diego had their way with them, but luckily they turned the ball over 4 times themselves. And the Bills ran up and down the field on them. They haven't exactly shown signs of progress.
In other news. Tony Romo played pretty well tonight and led an undermanned Cowboys squad back to beat the Redskins. Not too bad after everyone (me included) was crucifying the guy after week 1. They could easily be 3-0 right now, and I believe they have a pretty easy upcoming schedule. They could take control of the NFC East with the Eagles in disarray, the Giants having 2 guys getting hurt a week, and well they just beat the Skins.

Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread
New England's style is great for September football, but I agree faldor that the identity probably won't cut it long term. That passing game gets a lot harder in December, we saw that happen last year, and then the defense HAS to play. I still think the Pats are the favorites for the AFC, but really only because Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Indianapolis all appear to be less than advertised. Oakland and Houston look to have legitimate shots now, although the Ravens/Jets/Bills and the teams I've already mentioned can be good to great. But I think the NFC should be licking their lips looking at this year's AFC, especially if Atlanta and Philly can right their ships.
Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread
To be honest, I see flaws in every team except for GB. The Lions have been a pleasant suprise. I think they beat the Cowboys next week. I still don't know why the Pats haven't used a higher draft pick on a DE/OLB. It's not like they don't have any extras around.
AFC is a clusterfuck to be honest. PIT has major o line issues. Oakland can't pass. Houston routinely chokes in big games. Same with SD. BAL is old in the secondary. Sanchez is inconsistent for the Jets.
Can Phily overcome the lack of LB and S and Vick getting hurt? I don't know. If TB can't get the offense in shape, I think they could make the playoffs and get on a run. I have zero confidence that the NFC West winner will win more than one game. NO has to figure out it's defensive problems.
I really wish Kenny Britt hadn't gotten injured, as this makes the road to the AFC South title a bit harder. Still it's nice to have an actual QB who can make plays in the fourth quarter. They still have a chance though I don't see them doing anything if they get there. The pass rush stinks and the running game is awful right now.
The next two weeks should give us a glimpse on who will lead the pack in the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes. Chiefs play the Vikings this week. Colts play the Chiefs in week 5.
Denver and Miami are lurking in the weeds in case one of the two teams gets on a hot streak. I wouldn't automatically eliminate the Seahawks either.

The real question is will anybody ever beat FlashFlood in fantasy football again
Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread
Oh my fucking god! Are you kididng me. The Cowboys could very easily be 4-0 but thanks to two epic meltdowns they are 2-2. BULLSHIT!
I swear Tony Romo needs to see a sports psychologist because it's like he believes he can only be good half the time. There is no excuse for his play in the second half today other than a mental block. he has all the tools except mentally he's only there half the time. Absolutely devestating quality to have if you're a QB.
Lions 4-0 for the first time since 1980. That's insane.
