That was definitely Tommy. He was really trying to build Axl up at the beginning of PC.

Definitely agree. He needed new songs. That was a failure. It would have made up for the lack luster feeling of the rest of it.
I can't believe how off Ron was. Maybe it had something to do with the accident? He totaly blew the Jungle and Nightrain performance.
I'll say it again, they need Robin and Bucket back. Not just one or the other, but both. They played off each other fantastically.
I'm not slagging Ron and DJ, though. I loved them on CD and how they changed Mr. Brownstone. Sounded good.
Ron apologized for screwing up Jungle. He said it was because the Storm Trooper helmet fell down over his face.
Re: Guns N' Roses Live From Rock In Rio
Don't waste your time. It's mixed badly, no bass fuck all drums. The performance was lacklustre from the band and riddled with mistakes as has been said, worst of all the band weren't even tight, so even when there weren't obvious wrong notes it just sounded off.
The vocals were beyond laughable. I could do better. I was singing along with those songs just a few minutes ago and I did do better.
Looks like a group of guys who've given up on GNR trying to give a shit and failing miserably.
Re: Guns N' Roses Live From Rock In Rio
I thought his vocals were actually better than the 2009 Tokyo show that was towards the start of the last major cycle of touring. As far as the forgetting the lyrics thing, I think that happened during NR, and he got quiet because he was upset with himself. But, I think during "Patience" he was upset with something else and that's why he verbally expressed. I have no idea what, but that's just my gut instinct. I think because he has not been shy about expressing his displeasure with sound issues in the past.
To all the people complaining about the conditioning and vocal endurance: You must have a short memory. This will improve during the course of the tour just like it did during the last major touring cycle. I'm sure his conditioning and vocal endurance will be built up by the time the US shows start in Orlando.

Why we're acting so shocked and disgusted with Axl's temper tantrum seeing this is the way he's always been... No, actually, he's better now. Old Axl would have split.
RIR3...which is once a decade, can't and should not be fucked up. The rain you can't do shit with. It's there. The temper tantrums comes out of his own stupid faults. He can fuck up a few shows in the US or whatever - like Pittsburgh in 2002 or even Reading, but RIR is supposed to be golden. When you fuck up RIR, you not only fuck up GNR, you sort of fuck up history and I think we all react on that alone. That's why this is special, and Pittsburgh is Pittsburgh. Sorry for Pittsburgh, Axl is a dick, shit happens, that's what's coming to you when you go to a GNR show. Jolly good, bye bye and good luck next time. That's all fine, but you don't come to RIR singing out of tune and out of breath on top of not handling the fucking weather which WAS horrible. Yes it was. Theres's no arguing it was perhaps the worst conditions you can EVER do a show except in minus temperatures, and get this, rain in Rio is NOT like rain in London. This rain forest rain stuff. It pours. It's like a shower outdoors.
And I get that, fine, not the best conditions. Amazing they pulled it off, but you can't blame the rain on coming in half-assed with apperantly not enough preperation to follow up the legacy which is RIR. Next time maybe sing a few tunes beforehand, go thru some lyrics and be prepared you son of a bitch. And yeah, putting your heart on the line and then fucking up, it's gruesome. It's embaressing and you want to die, but he's supposed to be a professional. They have to deal with it. I wouldn't have. I would have thrown the mic down and left the stage never to return after fucking up your own songs, but he's getting paid for this stuff. Retreat is not an option.

Who screwed up Nightrain? That was worse than the Jungle screw up.
Could barely hear the guitars myself. The mix was terrible with the guitars way lower than they should have been. I didn't want to crank my speakers too loud because I live in an apartment and the show happened from 12:40 AM to 3 AM.
