Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
I agree. Not on the whole "war mongering" thing, but the overall point of what you're saying.
The exact thing that Obama was calling Bush a "war criminal" for and actually playing up the bullshit of "putting Bush on trial" and all that crap...
Obama has done the EXACT same thing.
Is anyone talking about it? No. Where's Michael Moore now?
What a fuckin' laugh, every bit of it. The whole Libya thing was more fuckin' pointless than Iraq.

All this does is really prove how much the Neo Cons are really like the left. Maybe their justification was different, but the outcome was the same. Massive expansion of government, and massive expansion of military enforcement across the globe.
That's why this era's GOP is trying to distance itself from the policies of the Neo Cons. Obama can hold the office another 20 years, and he'd still blame Bush. The problem is that he uses the same methods to accomplish his agenda as Bush did, then wonders why it doesn't work out.
Although I'm not a supporter of either, I think a Romney (maybe Perry), Cain ticket will be the duo that sends Obama back to Chicago where he can be a community organizer again.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
I actually don't think Romney's gonna get it done. He's not radical enough. He's actually 'too likable' and 'too nice'.
Obama would decimate him in a debate. Although Cain could easily take down Biden.
The thing is most Republicans like Romney, because they see him as getting the swing vote. I highly doubt it, because Romney is not doing enough to "pop" as a potential president. Unless something crazy happens, most people are gonna see Romney is "just voting for another Republican over a Democrat", then they'll consider what Obama said in the debate, and probably just vote Obama.
Perry on the other hand would almost GUARANTEE all the red states. Even if Perry is full of shit, which he is, Perry is gonna challenge Obama publicly, which not only are Republicans gonna eat up, but Tea Partiers (which are basically throwback small government Republicans) are gonna see him as a God.
Perry/Cain could potentially create enough dissention within the swing vote and the moderates, as well as stir up Republicans enough, that despite the fact that voting for Perry would basically be voting for Bush III, he'll make a name for himself in the home stretch. Perry won't hesitate to go for Obama's juggler, and having Cain (a black Republican) on the ticket, will basically be his defense Obama/Biden's almost guaranteed "racist" claims that you can guarantee will be around (which they'd have to be VERY careful. Playing the race card, could guarantee immediate white Democrat votes for Perry)
Perry is gonna be another typical Republican, but he's got the moxie to grab headlines.
Romney will be a fucking bore. It'll be Clinton/Dole '96 all over again. Dole puts you to sleep, and people hate Clinton so much half of the electorate stays home.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Point is he's the same as Bush, and he gets that shit all the time.
Yes but you said in regards to comparing him to Hitler:
If they were though the analogy wouldn't be as far off as you might think.
Then went on to compare him to Bush. Which has nothing to do with comparing him to Hitler, only to W.

Obama never said he would do that as president, in fact he did the opposite...nothing.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Ok I give up. Obama is Hitler with a sun tan.
I said the comparison wasn't that far off, meaning Obama has done some pretty shady shit (more so than people give him credit for, a lot more), but I never made an argument that he was that bad, obv.

What methods?
Massively military expansion and scope of authority, corporate bailouts, extension of executive powers and scare tactics to silence disentors. In fact, I think Obama is more combative with his opponets than Bush was. I may be wrong, but I don't immediately recall Bush lashing out against Pelosi and Reid, though again, I may have forgotten.
I love that website What the fuck has Obama done. Because half of them are utter bullshit and the other half would not even be mentioned under anyone else.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Obama absolutely has been more openly combative.
But I like that about him.

Obama never said he would actually do that, but he does have a law degree and did jump on the "try Bush for war crimes", when asked the question in interviews pre-election.
I think that at least counts as being a hypocrite being someone could easily say the exact same thing about him right now.
I personally think that's why you don't say absolutely stupid fuckin' ignorant shit like that. You might put your foot in your mouth.

I agree at the moment I think Romney is the most likely winner of the GOP ticket although I've heard the frontrunner tends not to win (Hilary/Romney 2008, Dean 2004, McCain 2000 etc) so it may not be him. That would be an interesting ticket, and a possibility except the drawback is a 3rd party candidate would likely run (Santorum/Bachman) & steal the extreme right votes. Either way I think a 3rd & possibly 4th party candidate will run in 2012 & make an impact like Nader 2000 & Perot 1992.
(Maybe it's time to fire up the 2012 Political thread)
