Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
For a guy like Obama, who exudes so much confidence, the problem with his Presidency is that he's playing way too safe. Too moderate. Too friendly. You can't be both Carter and FDR. He's like a counter puncher who doesn't fight back; he wants you to think he's playing the rope-a-dope, but in truth he's letting people beat the shit out of him. He's afraid of rocking the boat.
I don't think his Democratic leadership is doing him any favors, either. Droopy Dog, oh, I mean Harry Reid, should have stepped down a LONG ass time ago.
If he would have made the economy the #1 priority first, passing his bill on tax incentives for companies that hire, restructuring the tax codes, and created more stimulus for the states, people would have followed him in droves to support his health care movement. But he let Health Care get tied up for his entire first term and Pelosi and Reid basically blew their "majority advantage" load to pass it. And they allowed liberal groups to run out Blue Dogs and destroy their majority. They spent money on ousting other democrats in conservative areas so they could run left wing liberals... Who were DESTROYED. It's hard to just blame this awful, do-nothing, obstructionst, and quite frankly, out of touch/unqualified/unAmerican/vitriolic Republican congress. Liberals helped put them there, IMO. And they share the blame.
Bush didn't have to be combative like Obama has because the Democratic majority never operated the way the Republican congress is/has been. Their attacking "social conservative" bits in bills, holding up appointments in record numbers, forcing 60 vote majorities on nearly everything, threatening government shutdowns or refusing to fund the operation of the government, if they don't get their way, not to mention the record number of filibusters. Bush, and no other President had to deal with that. That has to be remembered. Especially when the Republican's clearly have no control over their party.
After Obamacare (which I support) passed, it was clear no one had a damn clue what to do next. They spent all their political capital instead of trying to grow it. No one from any party "assumed" the economy would tank this badly. But they should have and should have been prepared for it.
The jobs bill should have been number one. The funny thing is, anyone here who watches Morning Joe will know, Bill Clinton was saying what they should be doing from day one. No one listened.
There won't be a third party candidate and Obama won't lose. Yes, the Republicans are in that worse of shape nationally.

I agree at the moment I think Romney is the most likely winner of the GOP ticket although I've heard the frontrunner tends not to win (Hilary/Romney 2008, Dean 2004, McCain 2000 etc) so it may not be him. That would be an interesting ticket, and a possibility except the drawback is a 3rd party candidate would likely run (Santorum/Bachman) & steal the extreme right votes. Either way I think a 3rd & possibly 4th party candidate will run in 2012 & make an impact like Nader 2000 & Perot 1992.
(Maybe it's time to fire up the 2012 Political thread)
I completely agree, and you know who that 3rd party candidate is right now?
Herman Cain
Imagine:
Obama/Biden
Romney/Bachmann
Cain/Paul
I would not be shocked at all, and I know exactly who I would vote for in those tickets.
- Communist China
- Rep: 130
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Paul/Cain and I'll get on board

Great GREAT post, although I disagree about the 3rd party thing. I think for the first time since 1996 there's a chance for a real 3rd party to emerge. I'm actually kinda shocked Trump vanished from the spotlight. This was probably his best shot as he knows how to cut promos and would've fuckin' killed in debates. Wouldn't of made any points, but it would've been hilarious popcorn TV.
I still think Paul might run on some sort of 3rd party ticket, 'cause this is his last chance at anything. Herman Cain also has 'black Ross Perot' isms. He's a business man, a character, is gonna grab headlines, but not at all what the GOP is looking for.
Which leads me into my next point - the ultimate reason why the Republicans have NO chance of winning in 2012, is because NO ONE in that fuckin' party knows where to go. They are so fuckin' fractured in that party right now, that they have no clue. Like four different groups of people. You have the Romney's which are Reagan Republicans still thinking trickle-down economics actually works for the middle class, yet retain government might over the public sector. Small government/throwback Rockefeller-era Republicans like Florida Governor Rick Scott who wants to actually rip government to shreds and have literally NO government and privatize everything, but yet still identify as a 'Republican'. The Tea Party which started out as a modern-populist movement, is now the hang out for all the neo-cons who don't feel a home in the GOP anymore. And then of course you have the Ron Paul's of the world which identify as Republican and small government, but are socially libertarian and are not accepting by the mass electorate.
See all that? You don't have ANY of that splintered factions in the Democratic party.
I also totally agree on the Health Care thing. Totally agreed with it and supported it, but what a fuckin' LEGENDARY clusterfuck that became. Nobody knew what the hell they were even voting for, the mass citizens didn't support it because they didn't even know what it was and were corrupted by the mass hysteria created by the insurance BARONS who were scared of losing profits, and Republicans hated it because of their "no new taxes" schtick that they don't even fuckin' know what it means anymore...
Yet Obama totally forgot the biggest problem... NOBODY CARED. It was the absolute LAST thing on anyone's mind. We've got an economy that was butt-up with a flower in it, and Obama's pushing as hard as he can to add MORE debt over a Health Care bill that it was the absolute WORST time to push. I understood his motives tho, I think he felt that if we didn't deal with it immediately, then it'd get pushed to the back burner like it's always been, and the next President would push it to the back burner and so on, and I think Obama's intentions were to avoid.
Such a shame tho, it would've been nice if it'd all fell into place. I'm still without any insurance after two years, because it's just totally unaffordable.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Ok I give up. Obama is Hitler with a sun tan.
I said the comparison wasn't that far off, meaning Obama has done some pretty shady shit (more so than people give him credit for, a lot more), but I never made an argument that he was that bad, obv.
Please.
The comparison isn't just far off, it's ridiculous.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Herman Cain couldn't answer specifics on his own 999 plan (actually he did, he said, "I have no idea") when pressed for a basic explanation on tax deductions. Not to mention that every sane, credible economist, conservative and liberal, have torn his plan apart, which, broken down, is just a huge tax increase on the poor and middle class, while giving bigger tax cuts to the wealthy. Not only that, but 999 would force states that currently have no state tax to implement one. So basically, it would shatter an already fragile economy, but help boost the top 1%, who btw, are doing better today, specifically under the current economic conditions, than they have EVER. Repeat, Mr. Kennedy.... E-V-E-R. Lets give them more and let everyone else fend for themselves, basically.
Now, add to that Ron Paul who believes that we really don't need a government, at least how it it's been since the inception of this country (he claims to be a constituional purist, along with other so called libertarians, who rode the tea party wave into congress, and as their first "patriotic," constitutional purity selves, they have already tried to change the constitution TWICE. Patriotic, heh?), basically eliminating the military, IRS, EPA and social safety nets. He also wants to repeal regulations to the point that civil rights could be deemed unconstitutional, and to perpetuate this conservative, survival of the fittest mentality that is absolutely destructive and goes against everything this country has been built on and evolved from. He would allow corporations to police themselves (that's worked so well in the past, eh?) and be given huge tax breaks to continue to ship jobs overseas and operate under lax, better yet, make that ZERO, scrutiny under federal law. They would actually write their own laws, basically allowing them to destroy small businesses and unions at their hearts desire. With no EPA they could dump those toxins anywhere, unleash any poison into the atmosphere and into anyones drinking water... Like they've done when it was illeagal, the good old days. Nothing would stop monopolies from forming. And people want to brag how he'd scale down our military? Our military would now be run under corporations and private contractors, ala Blackwater. Sounds great, huh?
I mean, other than that, Ron Paul would make a super duper president.
And that government spending people want to harp on, it only created our greatest technological achievments that have changed the scope of our entire planet and helped create billionaires and millions of private sector jobs. The internet = created by the US government. Sattelite systems = created by the US government. GPS systems = created by the US government. Cell phone systems and tech = US government. And on, and on and on... I agree it should be smartly and critically cut, but not destroyed.

Cramer wrote:Randall Flagg wrote:The problem is that he uses the same methods to accomplish his agenda as Bush did, then wonders why it doesn't work out.
What methods?
Massively military expansion and scope of authority, corporate bailouts, extension of executive powers and scare tactics to silence disentors. In fact, I think Obama is more combative with his opponets than Bush was. I may be wrong, but I don't immediately recall Bush lashing out against Pelosi and Reid, though again, I may have forgotten.
I love that website What the fuck has Obama done. Because half of them are utter bullshit and the other half would not even be mentioned under anyone else.
This is like saying a car and a house both have windows so therefore they are the same.
Before Obama became president, he said what he'd do: Go where the terrorists actually were and kill them. That's exactly what he did too, more than any dipshit NeoCon could ever dream of. Unfortunately for Bush and the rest of his zealots, flunking basic geography class didn't do much good when it was time to "smoke out" the terrorists. Obama has relentlessly killed these fuckers, just as he promised. This is hardly an "extension" of Bush's military (mis)adventures in the Middle East.
As for corporate bailouts, damned if he did and damned if he did not. We all know what would have happened without government intervention.
Re: Hank Williams Jr. Compares Obama to Hitler
Obama never said he would actually do that, but he does have a law degree and did jump on the "try Bush for war crimes", when asked the question in interviews pre-election.
I don't recall that, maybe link us up?
