Re: Election 2012-Issue #1 labor unions/right to work states
Sadly it is you that has no idea what you're talking about. I hire IT people for a living. I think I have a pretty good grasp on the industry, thank you.
What I won't do is waste my time researching something to discuss it with someone that isn't at all interested in educating himself on the issues. It's a waste of my time. Sort of ironic considering you claim I'm repeating what I heard on the news when you look like you work for the democratic party based on everything you've said so far.
In short: you're convinced universal healthcare as written will be good for us even though you have no actual evidence to back this up, and you're convinced a flat tax (when you have no idea even what percentage is in my head) is automatically dismissed as it can't work. No, it can work if the right numbers are used. But this is why (I repeat) dicussing this with you is a waste of time. You don't know what you're talking about.
A waste of time because you won't educate yourself. I grew up in the Republican party in Florida, I've actually owned businesses, but I also try and educate myself on things... You know, like you're supposed to. If you're not reading talking points, then you're just a republican at heart.
Not trying to be snarky, but if you don't read, watch news, research what you're debating, you don't have a leg to stand on.
I'm not a democrat. I said I DON'T LIKE THE HEALTHCARE BILL, several times which you seem to ignore for whatever reason. It's better than nothing because it will/has saved lives, which trumps any argument anyone has. I've backed up what I think in the other tread, which again, you've ignored. And no, a flat tax will not work. Go read why. That's your responsibility. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. We've reached common ground before. I like to be totally aware of whatever I'm debating, and the point isn't to be right but finding the right solution. If you can prove your point and prove I'm wrong, then I will be more than happy to admit I was wrong. I have no ego about that kind of stuff.
I'd rather be correct than stubborn. So go ahead...
You don't have to have a car. And I agree everyone should have to have healthcare.
But everyone will get sick, unlike not having to own a car. If you want insurance rates to go down, then start looking at our wild west healthcare systems. Cap and negotiate the medical and pharamecutical industries, like we do every other industry and get back to me on those insurance rates. But again, I've never seen a better argument for a single payer system.
So in your mind there is no line? The gov't now has the right to tell us what to eat? What to drink? Where to go? All because they have told us we need to have auto insurance or wear a seat belt? I'd like to think you're smarter than that, but now I have to start wondering...
Just because the gov't has already overreached what they were established to do doesn't mean we want them to keep going. At some point, people will put their foot down. For everybody, that point is different, but it will happen.
There are already things that are literally illegal for us to consume in this country that's legal in other countries. And there are things we're not allowed to drink in this country that's legal in others. There are places we're not allowed to go in this country.
I said absolutely nothing about there not being a line, because there absolutely is. There is real stuff we should be concerned with, not made up paranoid delusions that the government is going to take all your guns or tell you how many kids you can have. Healthcare reform is about 100 years overdue. And seeing it took that long to get a neutered Obamacare bill really doesn't tell me that any of those things are around the corner.

Time for Obama to drop the fucking hammer on these radical muslims. This has nothing to do with that fuckig movie.
Re: Election 2012-Issue #1 labor unions/right to work states
Talk to any accountant about Obama and they will tell you how he is a job killer due to the new taxes sitting out there. Especially health care. Once he sets precedent with health care he will be able to force us to do anything. I own a small business, it will cost me so much money to hire new employees if Obama gets his way. Companies like McDonalds and Walmart are exempt from the Healthcare thing because they said it would cost them too much money to insure everyone, but my business would not be. Hilary Clinton should have been our President. Obama is Nothing like Bill Clinton, so get that out of your head.
Somebody explain to me how providing health care to 30M more people will kill jobs? You've got to be kidding.

Don't even waste your time...he's convinced rates will go down.
You're looking at it backwards. The more people pay into something the cheaper it becomes. Right now insurance is high because we are paying for MILLIONS of Americans who are not insured. In fact the system we currently have is closer to Socialism than anything the GOP could dream up.

You don't have to have a car.
You're paying for insurance one way or the other. If you pay for a cab, your portion of the insurance is inside the fare. Same with any other form of public transportation. Likewise those who do drive cars pay a higher insurance for those who do not and choose to drive anyway.

No, you're looking at it backwards. We are paying for those that go to the ER now. Many do nothing. They will now, and we'll be paying for the ER people and those that never went before. Maybe the ER guys will cost us a little less, but that will be more than covered by the increase of people that never used the healthcare system before.

When people have the health insurance, they will be more likely to goto the doctor over trivial things instead of just going when there is a broken arm. So more people now taking similar benefits, but a lot of the people couldn't really afford the insurance, so they will be subsidized by those that can. This is how you will get longer lines, shittier service, and higher costs.

Hahaha. Obama commands so much respect that the entire middle east region is flipping their shit right now and showing their hate for the US. This looks bad on Obama, real bad. Which is why he needs to be firm here. But some here just want to discuss Romney being a bad communicator, when does Obama get called out on the Middle East?
