Re: Coachella Festival profile and rumours

8 million per show? Even if 2016 is just a limited festival run they are going to make a killing.
So, the 8 million dollars they are getting for Coachella is also what they are looking for elsewhere. That is interesting.
It is also interesting that they were considering a Canadian concert in June. This could mean there may be more American dates after Coachella, and they could be big outdoor venue affairs with big ticket prices.
It could also price out Rock in Rio with their 1.5 million Euro offer and Reading
Re: Coachella Festival profile and rumours
The Top 10 most expensive festivals are;
Coachella
Tomorrowland (Belguim)
Glastonbury (England)
Rock AM Ring (Germany)
Main Square (France)
Sonar (Spain)
Roskilde (Denmark)
Sziget (Romania)
Open'er (Poland)
Exit (Serbia)
Some of these do not have rock bands, so are ruled out. One or two of these are possibilities, but festivals on the whole are looking unlikely
BST is still looking ok, because ticket prices are based on the band playing on the day
To maximise income, AEG will look to offer up their own venues. Here's a list of AEG stadiums http://www.aegworldwide.com/facilities/ … s/stadiums
I'll figure out the venue sizes and costs.

AtariLegend wrote:I still think they'd play "There Was A Time" and maybe 1 or 2 other tracks from the album at different shows. No one's suggesting they play Riad, Silkworms, Scrapped, If The World, Shackler's Revenge or any other song that even the current line-up doesn't play or hardly ever played.
I agree with this. They might throw in 1 or 2 songs to stretch the setlist, rotating from a mix of 3 or 4 (Street of Dreams, Better, CD, TIL) changing it up now & then. But yeah it's not gonna be any deep cuts or anything remarkable. It'd be like Metallica throwing in St Anger once in a while.
There won't be any "mix". It's all or nothing. Maybe if Izzy isn't up for it, but I still say they take back Gilby. Drummers could go either way, not sure Stevie can handle the UYI stuff, and Matt probably has a legitimate gripe in a way if he does. They'd probably bring Steve in mid show to handle some AFDs, and 2 or 3 UYIs he can handle, giving Matt a bit of a break.
Pittmans out. Dizzys got a small role, same as 91-94.
I seriously don't think Pittman is out. And actually, he just tweeted this:

Which is directly related to this:

Maybe an album cover? Maybe the next album is called The Ghost? A song?
There was word he didn't like touring, but if anything he's Axl's collaborator, both songwriting and studio work. Mother goose ain't going anywhere. If you don't want the hybrid, I think you're in for a big disappointment. And I would never in a million years have my hopes or even place a criteria for a reunion resting on fucking Steven Adler, Gilby Clark or Matt fucking Sorum. I don't know why anyone would demand all or nothing. Especially for those clowns.
Re: Coachella Festival profile and rumours
Oh well, Billboard have filled in the rest
http://www.billboard.com/articles/colum … -las-vegas
Coachella is confirmed, as is the prospect of a US tour. It's 3 million for individual concerts which makes more sense.
I think we can sit back now and watch
Re: Coachella Festival profile and rumours
Do you really think it'll be Richard Fortus & Frank Ferrar or whoever playing with Axl Slash & Duff? I just can't see that in any way.
5 bucks says we see a hybrid lineup in Coachella instead of a full show from an AFD/UYI lineup.
