There is no chance a socialist can beat him and socialists have shown they won't show up to support a moderate. Right now changing that might be their best hope.
Well, unless a 3rd party candidate, like John Kasich, pulls a Ross Perot and 'takes away' Republican votes from Trump, splitting them and the Dem not named takes it. Honestly, I'd be ok if Kasich or someone somewhat reasonably moderate won it. Over some wackjob 'Vote for me, Everythings free!' candidate with no courage or conviction, just saying anthing to get elected (Booker, Harris, Castro)
In hindsight, kindof ashame that Starbucks owner got booed & derailed when announcing he'd run independent (A heckler yelled 'You conceited asshole, a 3rd party means a win for Trump' or something) I also think he might've been wrong on that accusation. But, would probably be worth listening to his plans, we had 20 candidates onstage bantering about everything free with little business experience save Yang.
Kasich isn't the guy. I was really impressed with Gabbard. If she could get a message more on par with Yang about automation, I think she could close the gap with blue collar workers. Trumps presidency rests completely on the economy. His base is as rabid as Obama's, they're totally invested in him.

I'm just saying a 3rd party candidate. It'll go 33% Trump, 44% Dems, 33% are moderate or won't vote. If someone can gain traction from them, or take 20% of that, and the rest sit out and not vote, that 20% for the 3rd party candidate could limit Trumps reach.
It could be anyone. I had a suspicion Bill Gates might run, but he seems to have little to no interest in it.
Re: US Politics Thread
Second shooting in Dayton. Ugh.
They're going to have to do universal background checks, and really treat these assholes like terrorists. White supremacist, incels and ANTIFA (who tried to commit a mass shooting last week or so) all need to be treated, investigated and watched like ISIS. Any group that advocates violence.
And for God sakes stop spreading their manifestos, stop giving out their names until they can pull all their social media.
Re: US Politics Thread
I agree on UBC (heck, why not), and not announcing the names & the media should join in on it (seems they have). I feel they should just ban assault style weapons & magazines for more than 10 rounds or something. Yeah, they'll remain on the black market for a time but 10-20 years from now the value will probably be so high due to collectables that a rando angry 19 year old kid would have the means to buy one, & if they were to attempt the seller would probably get the impression he's using it for improper means & wouldn't want to be involved in the sale as it would be traceable (email, cell phone records etc)

They had opportunities to confiscate the guns of at least two shooters, Parkland and Waffle House, just off the top of my head. But in two cases, Sandy hook and Waffle House, their idiot parents went around the law and gave their peycho kids weapons.

Can you go one day without being a cunt?
Re: US Politics Thread
There is no answer for this guys. I mean you can throw all the resources and all the money at this that you want to with background checks and what have you. It won't make a difference...much like drug testing all those sweet, innocent welfare people to catch the few bad eggs was a waste of resources.
Re: US Politics Thread
Every terrorist act (mass shooting) that's been prevented has been family, friends, doctors, etc., turning them in. Every one that wasn't prevented, the shooters family and friends knew that person was deranged and dangerous but didn't say anything. The Dayton shooter was a radical leftist who apparently had a kill list a lot of people knew about since he was in high school, yet nothing.
