Paul Ryan just celebrated passing legislation barring Obama from doing anything in the final days in office.

How can you ask liberals and dems to grow up and turn the other cheek and tolerate the grotesque behavior these childish, career politician men.

Paul Ryan is a fraud and a hypocrite. The ultimate douche.

He is kind of a weasel. Trump sees through his bullshit. If he doesn't play ball with Trump he will be gone too.

I hope that's true...Trump can go along way to winning me over by doing so...

This right here is why the fan base will die for this man. When have we ever seen anything like this?

Go fuck yourself. Outside of the Internet fringes/daily express, you'll not find much support for a Breitbart nut that's failed to become an MP 7 times in different regions. The guy is so toxic even the right wing want nothing to do with him.

Strikes me as very petty, and childish. A childish, childlike display of strength. I get some people like a strongman leader, but those people are usually Putinbots.
To answer polluxlum, we've seen the likes of this all too often in history. It's called an abuse of power. You still see it around the world. Maybe you should move to the Philippines if you're impressed by this sorta temperament.
Surely you'd want your leader to be magnanimous & even mercifully, forgiving and fair. But maybe not.  Maybe the example he's setting and the culture he's enabling are your cup of tea. To me it's repulsive, sad, worrying and unedifying. Divisive, that word SG is so keen on.

Crucially tho, it's a distraction technique to the appointments he is making.
In fairness to the transition/PR team they're well capable of controlling the media & the easily led, such as our friends on here.
They have proven over the course of the campaign their ability to change the story being talked about, and continue to do so. "If you don't like what's being talked about, change the conversation." They're really excellent at manipulating people via this technique. But then, people make it easy for them by buying so fully into it with whatever their own motivations are, these people are willing participants.

I work in the media, so this is not awesome to me.

However, I will point out he was meeting with TV media, not newspapers like I work at. TV news has been pretty shitty, but to call them all liars is a bit much. Being wrong or bad at your job doesn't make you a liar.

Controlling the media is a dictatorship thing, and I don't think it should be cheered.

Federal court rules that the districting in Wisconsin is illegal and is giving the state 45 days to come up with suggestions on how to fix it.

The state will appeal of course because Republicans don't want the rules to change. Even though the districts were created by Republicans solely...Scott Walker style politics right there.

The timing of this ruling comes coincidentally as just last week I was posting this on the board. It's a brilliant 2-prong strategy by Conservatives around the country.

1) Gerrymander state distracts so Republicans always win.

2) Create voter ID laws that seem reasonable but actually block more people from voting than they do prevent voter fraud.

"We find that (the maps were) intended to burden the representational rights of Democratic voters throughout the decennial period by impeding their ability to translate their votes into legislative seats,” Ripple wrote for the majority. “We find that the discriminatory effect is not explained by the political geography of Wisconsin nor is it justified by a legitimate state interest.”
