I thinks you're confused on the definition of terror like you are on locker room banter. (Amazing you actually brought Lena Dunham into this topic)
Terrorist Attack
Noun 1. terrorist attack - a surprise attack involving the deliberate use of violence against civilians in the hope of attaining political or religious aimsterrorist attack - a surprise attack involving the deliberate use of violence against civilians in the hope of attaining political or religious aims
act of terrorism, terrorism, terrorist act - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear
coup de main, surprise attack - an attack without warning
So how was what Dylan Roof did terrorism under that definition?

Here's the legal definition of terrorism in the US:
Title 22 of the U.S. Code, Section 2656f(d) defines terrorism as “premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents, usually intended to influence an audience.” [1]
Re: US Politics Thread
racism is based on an ideology. Racist ideology.
terrorist act - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature
Honestly not that difficult to comprehend.

Your little snippet proves it also, he was trying to start a race war, to influence an audience, you could even say it was political as he wanted to create a white state.

Re: US Politics Thread
Contact his attorneys then. He was wrongly charged with a federal hate crime. We need to try him as a domestic terrorist and send him to GITMO.
Re: US Politics Thread
Islam isn't an American religion,
This.
Also, what the fuck does an attack in Canada have to do with America. And how was that not reported?
To be fair the WH released a list of what they felt were 75 underreportted terrorist attacks, including France, Germany, Belgium etc... So bringing up Canada was legit even tho it's not America. Your point about it not being terrorism, while I disagree or your not seeing the forest thru the trees, is a different argument.

What listed here disqualifies Canada?
