Nothin is def better of the two tracks . It’s quite different from what they usually release. I like the “chill vibe”.

The vocals sound pretty good . I wonder when they were recorded.

'On a restless sea' = Down by the ocean/Down by the sea? probably not but who knows. I remember Axl saying Fink played an SRV style solo on one song, I would imagine that was Nothing.

I had this thought too. A theory could be Down By The Ocean could have been a working title based on the island-sounding guitar lick. Seems like something Izzy could come up with. The big thing that goes against it is the demo had no mention of bodies of water in the lyrics. What are the writing credits?

I never listened to Nothing from the locker leaks, so this will be a brand new song for me- pumped to listen to it after work. Sounds like they messed up Atlas something fierce; not shocked.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel with these songs. Some good ideas and parts but it doesn't flow as a whole. In general that is a problem with all the CD material. That chopped up quality from splicing together dozens of ideas. Doesn't feel natural.

No idea why they haven't released State of Grace. Probably the best song after Hard School.

I was told a few weeks ago by somebody that Nothin' was the framework of Down By The Ocean hence i wrote the update to the Chinese Democracy unreleased definitive list on. Badapplesforum was coming soon on Monday i was waiting on Nothin' to release before the update.

It would make sense the village sessions version had no instrumentals except keyboard.

No. But it does make sense to me.

Axl also listed Down By The Ocean as a real song title in the 2008 forum chats.

Shacklermyrye you pointing it out instantly and all the credit to you on dentist drill sound effect on the village sessions version of Tonto which would make sense being Toothpuller.
