name me a rap artist who has sold more than Gnr and AC/DC....what about Floyd, ZEP, The Beatles, Stones.....show me one rap artist who has more catalog sales than big rock acts? Here is the list of the top selling acts in the US.....WHERE ARE THE RAP ARTISTS? Tired of hearing people don't buy rock, they do. Good rock records are purchased and purchased over long periods of time. Most rap artists have a shelf life of like 4-5 years and then their sales sharply decline. Axl will hold his own against Kanye and has a good chance of beating him straight up.:lol:

We are talking about in this day in age of crappy music. Rappers don't have the longevity. Dr. Dre has sold 80 million records.

yeah but thats what i'm saying..the current trend the past few years has been rap and r&b...but this past year and relelases from metallica and ac/dc has shown the pendulem swinging back in rock's favour but by and large the recent years have been owned by rap and r&b....what i was saying in my earlier post is that by and large these 2 artists arent even connected remotely, there iwll be very few people who buy both. there are the rap fans and there are the rock fans, what genre has more listeners these days...and does it really matter, i dont think they can be compared quality wise or sales wise, two totally different audiences
