His behavior is out there and is open to interpretation. It's my interpretation of his behavior, not his thoughts.

Then you would know that your interpretation isn't worth anything.

I'm well beyond being a psychology major, and I've worked in-patient acute care psychiatric trauma units for 15 years.  Where we didn't listen to anything the patients said, WE WATCHED WHAT THEY DID.  Any asshole can and will say anything.  That's why you watch what people do.  Period.

Well I could tell you that when I worked with children for example, I saw several cases where specialists came and observed the case in question in a closed room with absolutely no outside interference. In order to see the actual behavior symptoms of the child, that's what was needed.

My bet on it is just as valid as yours in this case, since none of them actually touches into the subject of Axl Rose, which in all honesty, you know nothing about.

Slash said it the best, it's ok for him to talk shit about Axl Rose, because he knew the guy and could say all he wanted. Quite frankly, he's right. He knew him back in the day, he could speak up. Those who did not, and do not know him, should out of respect keep their noses out of things they know nothing about.

Who knows Axl Rose? His close friends and his family. That's it. They can judge him, they can speak of him and they can have an opinion about him. Sometimes those opinions are that he's a downright asshole. Other opinions state he's a very friendly and warm human being who cares deeply for both his friends and family.

And that leaves people like you and me skippy who doesn't know the man and should clearly not speak of things we know nothing about. I'm quite bored with armchair experts in front of a computer. Aren't you?

Wow, where to start.

Hmmm...

As a public figure, his behavior will be dissected.  When he plays the recluse, all we are left with are the very public actions.

Do I know him? No.

Where there's smoke, there's fire, and the stench of the smoke is strong.
He exhibits very strong Axis II traits, that cannot be denied.

Hey, if your saying you don't like my interpretation, that's cool.
It is as valid as your interpretation that we shouldn't be interpretting.:)
I may not like everything you or anyone else says at one time.

All of this would be mute, and you and I wouldn't have an armchair analysis going on, and I wouldn't have time to think about this in a professional sense, if Axl would just do something right, ya know, like pay some sort of attention to the CD that he just dropped.

My "interpretation" of this is that he is going to disappear again, and when he reappears, he will blame other people for a failure that is all his to own.

I wonder what the Vegas odds are on that?

I find it funny how some of you take the stance that if someone like Skippy expresses his opinions or interpretations on Axl and his behavior they arent' worth anything or are baseless simply because you disagree with thsoe interpretations  Yet those of you who feel Axl has matured and is simply misunderstood or who defend his actions have a legit reasons to do so and your opinions are of more value on this subject? Why is that? Those of you excusing Axl or defending his actions don't know him either.  You're interpretations aren't worth anymore shit than anyone elses.  Fuck I hate when people use that arguement. We all know in the grand scheme of things our opinions regarding someone we've never met don't mean shit but don't say it like yours actually does.  I laugh at how sensitive some of you get towards Old Uncle Axl yet nobody flinches or even hesitates to trash the  behavior of somene like Britney Spears. Someone you don't even knwo yet it's o.k. and good for a laugh to trash someone like her.  It's a  tad hypocritical.

Here's a concrete example of cause and effect with Axl.

Because he behaves like an ass, I don't buy his CD.

Because people know me as the Guns and Roses guy, when people ask me about it, if it's as good as the old stuff, I tell them "No", it sucks and not to waste their money.

Because he can't show up on stage on time, I won't buy tickets anymore.

Because Axl can't play well with others, there has been an endless string of increasingly less talented musicians willing to collaborate with him.

As far as providing concrete examples of why I think Axl has huge borderline personality issues, read up on it, work with it for years, educate yourself, and then look at the history of decisions made by Axl AND the faulty reasoning he has given for his bad decisions.
If you can't do that, go to a strip bar, and talk to the older girls who work there, and listen to their stories, it's all the same thing.

Skippy, of course Axl has a Borderline Personality, as millions upon millions of other people do, but, this doesn't sound like a guy who cares what you think or cares if you buy his cd's or not.

agreed that we cant seem to hold a topic to its subject matter these days but if someone wants to speculate, yet again, by how sane Axl is (or isn't) then so be it....personally i have come to the conclusion that I dont beleive Axl is any more crazy than I am...I can t speak for the sanity of the rest of you 16

Maybe this is a reflection on the album. Maybe threads are vering off topic cause the subject matter just isn't as good or as interesting as people would like(and claim)  it to be.  I know people will think I'm a fucking loser for saying this but maybe, just mabe the love for CD is wearing off. Maybe, just maybe the initial love for it was subconsciously predetermined for some and now that the hype/excitment has wained a bit people are subconscioulsy losing interest in this "amazing album" Maybe just maybe it boils down to a 13 year wait for an average album not warrenting anything more than average discussion on the subject matter where more often than not things are more intersting when they are off topic. Just a thought.
