Re: Pearls of wisdom from Duff
I know you were talking about me.
You were being a smart ass.
Most people, in everyday life, would not be a smart ass to a complete stranger. You might, I dunno, but almost all wouldn't. Just not human nature. And what his point is, what does that say about us? And my retort is, it's escapism.
It'd be like saying Burt Reynolds is a womanizing, law breaking, bootlegger, because he played The Bandit as an 'actor'.
We're all 'actors', and we're all technically here for 'entertainment'.
It's when someone loses that grasp, and starts believing their own fiction, instead of reality.
I might have 5000+ posts, but I don't 'live' on the internet. I still spend almost all of my day, NOT on the internet doing other things. I'm also the same person on and off the internet.
I know ALOT of people that aren't. Just like with school. I've seen tons of people try to bail out of their housing agreements with school housing, because their new roommate, they saw something on MySpace, and the guy looks like a real douche bag, and they want out before they even meet them. I tell him, just chill, and wait. They meet them, and suddenly they're the best of friends, and the person is NOTHING like they are on the internet.
The was the only point I was trying to convey.
