Re: H1N1 Vaccine
the vaccine is rolling out across UK here too, dont think I'll bother. The media here is so untrustworthy about the whole flu thing, I cant see why I should have it any more than previous year's flu jabs (of which I had one once about ten years ago and it made me sick as a fkn dog for days).
I'll stick to taking my echinacea thanks.
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
Yeah, Big Brother wants us to have a shot. Big Brother can cram it.
Obama can jab himself, his wife, and his kids with it first , then wait 5 or 10 years and lets see the health effects of this vaccine that they rushed out.
After that transpires, my chances of taking it go up to about one in a million.
Completely agree. I typically am willing to give the government the benefit of the doubt, but this is one thing I hang up on.
No matter who's president.
I just don't trust these mass-immunizations stuff. I just don't.
Too much X-Files I guess.
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
Flu shots themselves are fine. Proven for decades now. My whole family is sick with it right now except me. Guess who got the shot. Yes, the H1N1 was rolled out fast, and it'll be interesting to see if any mass side effects show up.
Can't argue that cause that's your experience but in my experience I lived with a roomate for 5 years and then with my brother the last 3 years. I NEVER get a flu shot and they ALWAYS did. Guess who always ended up sick with the flu and who didn't? I never get the flu and haven't had a flue shot since grade school and even then I don't remeber ever taking it in highschool. I don't think the flu shots have anything to do with anything. I think it comes down to your own personal immune system and a bit of luck. I guarantee eating right, excersising and proper rest will win every single time over a simple shot.
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
The fucking joke about H1N1 is in Canada the media and government spread mass panic by urging everyone to get the shot as soon as possible and there will be more than enough vaccine shots for everyone. Yet not even a week after the vaccine was made available they were running short on supplys and now the government is saying shit like "Oh well everyone will be able to get their shot by January, no need to worry" Which is it? A Pandemic or somethingw e don't need to worry about right away? Also whyt he fuck did hardly anyone get diagnosed with H1N1 back in the spring when the inital scare came out but suddenly when the vaccine is "available" it's all over the news with people being diagnosed with it. Seriously there was NOTHING said on H1N1 over summer but the minute the vaccine became available a "second wave" just happend to hit North America? Fuck off. I call fucking bullshit.
It's mass propaganda. It's scare tactics. There's companies making billions off this vaccine. It's all a fucking scam and people are buying right into it. Seriously H1N1 comes out in the spring and within 6 months they've researched and developed the vaccine and mass produced it so everyone can get it? Not very likely. FUCK H1N1 and FUCK the vaccine!
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
nobody in my family will be getting the vaccine...
my oldest daughter had h1n1 for a minute....
scratchy throat, headache... fever... 2 days later... it was gone.
1,000 people have died from h1n1...
over 800 people A WEEK die from the "regular" flu....
it's all hype and fear mongering....
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
I got it today.
Oh, and you can't get the flu after you've gotten the (seasonal) shot...
That's impossible. Sorry.
What are some people thinking? That they'll be immune against getting sick once they get vaccine against a specific disease?
Come on!

Of course you can. People do, every year. The seasonal flu jab should provide immunity to the strain of flu that is thought to be the most common that year. That doesn't mean to say you won't catch another strain of flu which can make you ill as you haven't had a vaccine against that strain.
Re: H1N1 Vaccine
That's why you should take it TWICE a year. Hence seasonal.
Of course you can still get a different kind of flu even though it's not ordinary once you've gotten the shot but you can't get the actual kind that you've been vaccinated against.
That was my point. That certain people seem to believe that it's not even a properly functioning vaccine.
And that you'd supposedly get even sicker if you vaccinate yourself for whatever reason is crap.
Hey, it's your lives - but I'm not going to take the risk.
I don't get why people seem to be so afraid of medical drugs. Fuck, I barely understand anything anymore.
It's also funny to see individuals oppose the direction (although ridiculous) that the media is taking with the H1N1 flu, by scaring people half to death, while doing the same thing in an opposite way.
