Print too much money = problem
Population distracted from previous problem (War, terror, death, famine!) = population more confused than before, less likely to single out YOU (or your designated puppet, whichever you prefer) come election time
Print more money to solve the problem of printing too much money = ?
Realize it was a bad idea and that the bankers have fooled you once again (doh!) = we need a new problem!
