definitely looking forward to it now i know there's no ghost writer involved. duff has a sense of humour and integrity that's a lot more palatable than slash - or axl - but i hope he's honest and we get the whole story. not just wistful smokescreens, let's know the full bullshit as to how the band went down.
to be honest though, i'd probably prefer if they didn't write books about the band or the band members didn't release autobiographies. i'd prefer the story to be told solely through the music, but that's obviouly somewhat unrealistic. but as long as this provides a few more home truths and laughs than slashs book, and a few more concrete details of guns post-slash, then it'll be worth something. these guns books seem to gloss over the post-93 period - stephen davis' crap book for example springs to mind having spent about 200 pages on pre-appetite - lies and a bit of nonsense on the illusions, 94-whenever the book was published was tossed off with tittle-tattle and hearsay.

If there is a slight chance that we could find out what happened to this band and who really did what we will never get as good a chance as this.  Slash's book was full of lies and he changes his story a couple times during the book.  Axl well I won't go there.  Duff as always been somewhat neutral.  He's always said that GNR got to big too quick and that was a big factor on why it blew up.  Wanna know if it's true Axl held a show hostage until those guys signed away the rights to the name?  If he confirms it I'll believe Duff.  But I clearly don't believe Slash cause he has 2 versions of that story.  One on book and one on the Behind the music.  And both versions are VERY different.

I think what might shock people is when he 'disagrees' with alot of Slash's past recollections.

Oooh, people will freak when that happens.

Just sayin', it could happen.

Duff said when asked what he thought about Slash's book after it was released 'I think Slash has a worse memory than I do'. So I think certain events will defintiely be different in Duffs book.

Definitely, although I imagine he's got some good tales to tell from the old days. Wouldn't mind hearing his opinion and thoughts on a reunion as well.

isnt it possible that slash's personal tales in the Slash book wont even overlap with duff's memoirs?

why do things always have to be a pissing match with gnr fans...the slash book IMO is a great read...whether or not its 100% accurate is not the point, i'm sure the general idea is there and even more importantly its slash's personal feelings on alot of topics that any gnr fan should find an interest in...

also, if slash cant write worth a shit, then i'd rather read a ghost writer's edit of slash writing, than chugging through a book that seems written by a kid in grade 10 (no offense to kids in grade 10 tongue ) but maybe its just me...
