Imagine, rebel johndivney, if ANY other 'rebel' band would dare to hit the stage an hour late and almighty rebel Axl were forced to wait to perform. He would be the first to plug them off.

Well hasn't this all gone tits up since my last post 24 hours ago. To think this time yesterday I was bummed because they weren't showing any live GNR footage 16

Hopefully they'll still do Leeds, if they care as much about the fans and the music as they say then they'll do it.

Don't know where to start on last nights events really and most of it has been said by others. All I will say is firstly GNR didn't have to be late, they knew the risks so have to take a large portion of the blame for last nights events. Having said that I do question what would have happened had things been a little different. Hypothetically say GNR hit the stage at 9.30 as they're meant to, and the gig's going really well, crowd are really into it etc a standard GNR set is usually over 2 hours anyway which takes them over curfew, what happens then, does the plug still get pulled? Does a band (or just GNR) still get the plug pulled for showing up on time and giving the crowd a marathon headline set to remember or is that ok? A curfew is a curfew after all.

They'd adjust their set accordingly. Pretty straight forward stuff. Like you said a curfew is a curfew. Adjust the set. take out a solo here and there and stop acting like you're entitled to play by a  different set of rules just because your'e Axl Fucking Rose. he thinks it's his world and we're just in it.

As usually when things go a little tits up, the haters on here come out guns blazing...

Everyone going to a GNR gig knows the show will run late. The organizer coming out and "challenging" Axl/GNR the way he did, was not a smart move. Same goes for GNR, going on late on purpose, if that was the case, was not a smart move.

Del James posted a pic of Dizzy on the tourbus on the way to Leeds, so they're obviously intending to play that gig.

When things like this goes down, there is obviously stuff going on behind the scenes that we don't know. So for the haters to be as all-knowing, as they've been acting in this thread, is just a waste of your own time. Think about that... You're actually spending your own precious time twisting your brain on an event you didn't even attend. That's prolly more stupid than the pissing-match between the organizer and Axl.

It's been said many times over the past years, and it's still true. If Axl/GNR rubs you so insanly the wrong way, stop getting involved! It very simple... After soooo many years, your wierd fascination to predict doom and gloom and willingness to spend time on messageboards, is just sad... I mean, take a moment and add up all the minutes/hours you've wasted. THAT would rub me the wrong way!  smile

I'm not a hater, but going on an hour late is bullshit. Plain and simple. No excuse. I thought how he ended the show was cool. But going on late... Not cool. And its pretty much made my mind up that I won't be seeing them if they tour around me, which I was planning to do.

Like jarmo attacking anyone who dared say Axl went on late on purpose (while deleting posts) and telling people not to make assumptions until we know what caused the delay... Now he's sucking Richard's balls (taking time away from his busy schedule of licking Axl's asshole) about Axl being "rock n roll" and that Axl basically went on late because he wanted to. Lap dog.

Sorry, I love the band, but I'm not going to be anyones lap dog.

if they went on 40 minutes after the previous band thats actually pretty reasonable to change over gear from the previous and set up the next one...

I've been thinking that for a while. I know it will sound like i'm drinking the cool aid - but did they come on at 10.30? If that's within an hour of the booking time, its  actually a pretty early start for GNR. I mean sometimes it's midnight before they show.

What rubs me the wrong way is how HTGTH-types continue to rub his cock, despite the steaming shit he took on their foreheads, and continue to waste their lives on message boards following the guy.
