"I think this" ..."I think that"...for fuck's sake I'm tired of talking about it. It is what it is and none of our opinions count for shit. Nobody on this board has one fuckin clue as to what is going to happen with the entire Gnr circus...and that includes yours truly.
I'd much rather be listening to new music, watching DVDs and reading interviews than scouring forums, believe me. But it seems with GNR thats not an option.

What I find odd also is that despite the recording being done, almost at the final hurdle, Axl still stays silent. Regardless of the 'negotiations' and business, is he not keen to share his enthusiasm for the new album with the world? I mean, its finished and handed in! Maybe I'm just the type of person that likes to see some passion for what people are trying to achieve. If I was at the record company i'd also want some kind of insistence that Axl gets out there and promotes the fuck out of it, after all his charisma has to be one of GNR's only assets

Isn't it funny how after all this time, finally the record confirmed as 'handed in' (or so we are led to believe) and the negotiations are taking this long. I think everyone assumed the recording was the hard part. Seems like we're starting over again.
Like Takeshi's castle.

I'm with you. He'd be perfect as he is a great prolific songwriter and decent frontman so they could be putting out an album every year with this guy as a singer. He is also pretty unknown in North America but big abroad which could really add to the international appeal without being too much of a supergroup type project in NA. The only concern is that he is a bit of a headcase and has his own list of personal demons so he might not be a long term solution.
Honestly, guys check out some of his material with The Wildhearts or Silver Ginger 5, it is awesome. His solo work is pretty good as well but a little more laid back.
Phew at least someone is with me! I think Ginger is over most of his 'personal demons', he seems at pease with himself. Currently to be found doing a weekly solo spot in a bar in New York. Oh yes and also releasing a cover album with the Wildhearts. After another solo album. As you said VR wouldn't have a shortage of ideas and melodies to work with.
Maybe Ginger could produce VR's album, even if he doesn't sing.

We now have confirmation that the band has almost reunited at least once.
Now the people who have always said it could/would never happen are eating a bit of crow.
Agreed, we just need that other 'Welcome to the Jungle Best Of' to come out and we are looking at another possibility of a reunion.... Well heres hoping anyway....!!
I wonder what the obstacles were to it happening? I guess theres just so many that it just fell flat.
Would be great to hear more about this, but no one has ever spoken of it other than Scott. He is right though, apart from about 10 people, the world would be happy if it happened.
I'm in a hurry to get to a wedding but here's the other side from the Duff interview
Weiland says you should reform GNR - that 'the pens were ready to sign' the contracts were on the table...'I know he was really paranoid about that and we had to allay his fears at one point, when we were writing for Libertad' says Duff. 'He got wind that our manager at that point had been talking to Axl about bringing Axl over to what was our management company back then. And Scott freaked out that we were getting GNR back together and we weren't going to make the second record. I don't know where it came from - there was no contract on the table or pens ready to sign..maybe now he's convinced himself thats what happened.
#1017 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR issue statement about Robin » 906 weeks ago
I wander if this Robin issue will turn ugly.
Didn't it already? They are releasing an album heavily written by two guitarists that isn't even in the band anymore?
I kind of meant whether there will be a war of words
But yeah I take your point too, Axl has an album but no musicians

Slash and Duff on front cover, article covering the end of the VR tour
Interview with Scott Weiland, who empathises with Axl...
Lots of shit being thrown around but here's an interesting snippet
Question to Scott
Wouldn't an alternative to this heated situation be that you all cool off, do your separate projects and then regroup and see how the land lies?
I think they should get Guns N Roses back together, to tell you the truth. I think that would be the greatest thing that they could do. I think the world would be very happy. If they could stop talking trash about Axl in the press. It almost happened. The pens were ready to sign. With the Greatest Hits there was a possibility but there was too much stuff being said. Ha, that was cool. I should really know but is Robin the pink or green guitar?
The 'why did I sign up for this' tickled me
#1020 Re: Guns N' Roses » GNR issue statement about Robin » 906 weeks ago
new email posted from Del at htgth. This is the part that deals with Robin. The other half deals w/ the Slash/Axl at an NYC hotel. That half is posted in that thread. Here's the first part:
Hey, there's all kinds of silliness and speculation floating around on the internet but as far as I know whatever Robin's plans are there are no plans in Guns to rewrite or re-record Robin's parts for the album.
They seem fine whereas before, and this was no fault of Robin's, there were tuning issues that needed to be addressed....Take care,
Del
Random! As another poster said I think this is a dig at Robin...it doesn't seem usual to me for GNR to elaborate on leaving rumours, so I don't see why Del commented about the tuning issues. The only purpose I can see is to create more silliness on the internet.
I wander if this Robin issue will turn ugly.
