That’s the problem with having principles. Corbyn didn’t play the game.

I think Lib voters will tick Labour just to block Boris and Brexit. I’m sure this will be a rolling disaster either way!

wasted wrote:I think with a new single or song, these days you only get one pop. If you put a single that gets attention, say for Dark Fate, but that means when album drops the public are over it.
It's frightening how short pop culture's attention span is nowadays.
I'm actually amazed that anything can catch on.
And sometimes I think the culture or product isn’t even there. At first people were watching videos on YouTube but now it seems they are playing homemade video ping pong on Tik Tok. The whole pretension of pop music being art just dropped from not being that important (the opinion of the social media poster being more important) to not even needing a product. I guess that has always been there with celebrities but now the audience are the celebrities and there’s no record.
There’s that saying “If it’s free, you are the product” - they are selling the audience to algorithms.
Content is king. People want and platforms need something to sell everyday 24 7 forever. Human need meets corporate business. We are cybernetic and only a few clicks from the machine taking over.
I think terms of Guns that’s why touring works better than albums. Pics, setlists etc almost daily. It’s like as teams of slaves are building a cathedral or a pyramid, there’s a hot dog stand making a killing off the job site. Then the pyramid vanished, but no one knows, people are still buying hot dogs outside. Every few years the pharaoh comes out and we believe the building is still underway and buy more hotdogs. CD II aka Pharaoh Hologram is coming soon.

But I can’t see or rely on even that being solved by a vote either way. There’s no way of being certain.

Supposedly Axl wasn’t trying or want to remake UYI, he didn’t get a hard rock guitarist to replace Slash. There’s s more Alt rock feel to Disc 1. Kind of an evolution of UYI especially on Axl tracks, but maybe that took away some of metal assurance Slash brings. Considering Axl wrote Dead Horse and Shotgun Blues, Nov Rain and Estranged he has the range to do a UYI type record without the Izzy songs of the punk metal of Slash - and that’s what CD is. They just took it further, once Brain comes in doing programming for Prostitute and seems like Costanzo really put the final version on a more electronic plain. It’s so unlike UYI all the stadium rock is gone. I was surprised though they could actually play Shacklers like the record live. ITW was more rock live but they hardly played it. CD was the next best GNR album, maybe Slash would have made it a little more organic like he did with Better and Chi dem, he gave them more energy but it seems like it took years to find the next level sound, that some don’t even want. Maybe just UYI but heavier like Spag incident is what people wanted.

hard school is use your illusion 3 as fuck
That’s probably what the next record will be, UYI 3.
Even Atlas and Perhaps fit that. Maybe that’s why they didn’t go on CD.

It seems like there’s an Axl Bucket record here and that would be the 3rd cd.
That would have been the future after a 2000 release.

Atlas is the stand out track.
I love State of Grace and Perhaps is awesome.
Hardschool and Oklahoma are surprisingly rocking. Hardschool has that old school GNR vibe.
Nothing and Eye On You I could see Slash working off the vocals.
There’s a raft of instrumentals and Soul Monster seems most ready. Circus could be No Quarter’d up.
