its a good list, if all is mixed well, it should be a decent album...but I cannot help but feel a little bit disappointed with this, i was truly hoping that what Axl said in RIR3 would be true....with those songs not being listed for the final album....looks like he lied...again...
but, as someone else mentioned, my fault for downloading them, so i suppose i shouldn't complain too much...
lets hope that the second (or third) disc has all new material on it, and that this is at least supported by some form of a DVD disc with some new stuff on there....

Why else would all the skus be changing on the site and the tracklist be only posted on one vinyl version, etc?
it could be that they are actually working on the site itself...with lots of these big retail systems, sometimes the only way to input data into it is to do it live...on the go....so perhaps what we are seeing is just them populating the site, and we keep on interrupting them...:laugh:

all of this points to the fact that the main album was indeed done and ready to go in '02...i wonder why it didn't....and what have they been doing since then...?...maybe the other discs will reveal that one....

a decent ad agency can put together a kickass campaign in less than two weeks...no big deal there...implementing it though could take a bit longer, depending on the budgets...
considering these guys don't have too much time left, and if they are still searching for an agency, it must mean that Universal has a serious amount of money they'd be willing to spend on this...

Rock band Guns N' Roses is seeking an advertising agency to promote their long-awaited next album in a major break from music industry tradition.
Sources suggest that Universal Music has already contacted several London advertising hotshops to launch a marketing communications programme ahead of the global release of 'Chinese Democracy' on November 25.
The move is the latest in a string of new initiatives by the music industry to encourage people to continue buying music, particularly albums, rather than illegally downloading or just buying singles for 79p.
Last summer, Prince gave away free copies of his new album with The Mail on Sunday; and Radiohead launched its own pay-what-you-like download experiment for their latest album.
Declining sales of music have prompted many bands, including Coldplay, to give away their tracks free. Last month Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher said he would 'embrace' the growing free music culture by allowing fans to listen to the band's new album on MySpace, ahead of its official release. The album was posted on the social networking site so that fans could listen free.
It will be the first Guns N' Roses album since 'The Spaghetti Incident' in 1993 and was initially scheduled for release in March last year.
The delay prompted Dr Pepper in the US to ann-ounce that it will give a free can of its soft drink to 'everyone in America' if the album is released anytime during 2008.

How so?
i don't think that the listings in the past were ever as detailed in terms of product codes as they are now....coupled with all the rumors and product placements which have been happening over the past month, it indicates that this could be true after all...
or as near to the truth as we have ever been...it could still be pulled in the last minute, but i don't think that GNR would be that silly.....

Now, I'm just waiting for the statement where Axl says he wasn't aware of any "release date" or "deal with Best Buy"
and Azzoff gets fired for his lies and then we get another round of "open letters" to the fans....
