Haven't seen this posted anywhere.
Doesn't give a lot of detail but does suggest therre will be a marketing blitz as opposed to the 'it'll just turn up on shelves' apoproach.

Rock band Guns N' Roses is seeking an advertising agency to promote their long-awaited next album in a major break from music industry tradition.
Sources suggest that Universal Music has already contacted several London advertising hotshops to launch a marketing communications programme ahead of the global release of 'Chinese Democracy' on November 25.
The move is the latest in a string of new initiatives by the music industry to encourage people to continue buying music, particularly albums, rather than illegally downloading or just buying singles for 79p.
Last summer, Prince gave away free copies of his new album with The Mail on Sunday; and Radiohead launched its own pay-what-you-like download experiment for their latest album.
Declining sales of music have prompted many bands, including Coldplay, to give away their tracks free. Last month Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher said he would 'embrace' the growing free music culture by allowing fans to listen to the band's new album on MySpace, ahead of its official release. The album was posted on the social networking site so that fans could listen free.
It will be the first Guns N' Roses album since 'The Spaghetti Incident' in 1993 and was initially scheduled for release in March last year.
The delay prompted Dr Pepper in the US to ann-ounce that it will give a free can of its soft drink to 'everyone in America' if the album is released anytime during 2008.

heavily promoted when? if they don't have an agency for promotion one month left until it's released and they are just now looking for one, do they think that they can find an agency, find ideas, get axl to approve the ideas, and start the promotion until nov 25? i doubt that

Well obviously it was a mistake to wait this long. I'm shocked that they are even going this far with it. I was expecting a low key affair.
They definitely should have already had a single out. Least they could have done was throw Shacklers and If the World on Itunes and see the response. It would have been a good way to gauge the real interest on the record.

A lot of albums at the moment are being promoted after release, TV ads and such are all saying out now rather than coming out xxx. Perhaps I just miss them before release but it seems most tv ads for albums start being aired 2/3 weeks after an albums release.

They need to stream the whole album on myspace a week before release. Quite a few other artists are doing that now.
They also need to lift the ban on fans using CD songs on their myspace profiles. That is a ton of free promo they are missing out on.Should also be more lenient on youtube.
