#191 Re: Guns N' Roses » Best Buy exclusive dramatically limited 1st week sales! » 862 weeks ago

Why would WalMart want to do business with fakeGNR? fakeGNR was lucky to ripoff BestBuy & everyone should be happy with that. WalMart does business with people they know they can make money off & fakeGNR is not a moneymaker. Not when they can land the AC/DC's & Garth Brooks of the world. The REAL heavyhitters in the music business.

Would GNR probably sold a few more albums to the public without the BB exclusive? Probably. Would they ever of made the money they got from BB upfront like they did? Doubtful. So it worked out well for fakeGNR & people should be happy with that.

I thinks it's pretty clear at this point that Axl has finally hired someone that can/will get him from point A to point B. I would image there'll be a few more "GNR" albums released in the next few years & some well planned tours to make whatever money is left out there to make with the GNR name.
It's definitely not the most exciting band anymore, but I guess this was Axl's big vision?

Slash himself said it, there has to be a mutual respect. I think they are closer to that now, then say - in 2004. Why? Because both of them went their own way, did their own thing, and it crashed & burned, and is probably over on both fronts.

I would hardly say Slash's way crashed & burned. VR ended up reviving his career. Then through sobriety, hard work & a second to none image, Slash has made himself into one of the most recognizable & respected musicians in the world. The guy is about to release a starstudded solo album that has a very real chance of launching his career into a whole 'nother stratosphere. In an amazing twist of fate, with much thanks to Axl's douchebaggery, Slash has a real chance to become  bigger than the GNR name, if he hasn't already.

This is huge for the state of Oregon. I'm pretty sure they're going to redirect a portion of the Columbia River & sell the water to other western states, while also helping to populate the high desert area here where I live. They're also talking about building four lane highways from Weed, CA to Interstate 84 & another from Bend, OR to Boise, ID. Then, there's also the wind & tree farms that are in the works for Eastern Oregon. It's funny, because Obama actually commented on how he should buy some real estate here in Bend when he spoke in Central OR on his campaign. Maybe he knew what was going to happen to this region?

naive? i would say the same about the opposite

america is a small part of the world.

You obviously just don't get it. For any band to tour abroad costs them way more money. You think GNR would make the same amount of money selling out a US west coast tour as they would selling out the same number of shows in 10 different European countries? You think the overhead is even close to being the same for that? Or the taxes are the same, or the currencies, or the ease of travel?

Aren't you the guy that also was saying GNR is probably waiting for the intial sales to subside before they start promoting their album? I take it business is not your calling.:haha:

i don't care about america since they have no taste in music and a sale is a sale to uni/gnr and i'm sure they don't care where it comes from either.

That's such a naive statement. It very much matters for bands were there albums are selling, especially if they have plans for touring. The American public rejecting this version is a crushing blow for the profitability of GNR. You don't think the record companies care about that?

#198 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl PWNS DR. PEPPER » 865 weeks ago

I think alot of you are missing the point. This Dr. Pepper thing made it on the local news here in Central Oregon the day CD was released. Literally, the news station was reporting that there were 2 hours left to register online for your free bottle of Dr. Pepper because GNR released an album. If it made the news in Podunk, Oregon, obviously, tons of other outlets picked up the story & reported it. Think of how many people then concluded that GNR & Dr. Pepper had a deal to promote both the album & the drink(My wife even said, "Dr. Pepper sponsored GNR?"). Then think of how many people felt ripped off by both GNR & Dr. Pepper for not getting the coupon right then & there. Except, GNR had nothing to do with Dr. Peppers failed promotion, yet looked bad in the public's eye.

That's why there's trademarks, liscensing fee's, etc....It's business law 101. I'm stunned that this this actually took place & Dr. Pepper actually tried to pull this off. I'm still not sure it's just some Kaneda prank to piss off mygnr. But if it's not, Axl/fakeGNR will make a few million from it, which, along with the Best Buy deal pays for CD.

#199 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl PWNS DR. PEPPER » 865 weeks ago

Dr. Pepper really does need to get sued for this. It's like they tried to circumvent the liscensing/trademard system. GNR probably knew they would sue when they found out about in the first place. Then, when you add on the damage done to the GNR brandname because of the failed coupon giveaway.......I would say Dr. Pepper needs to hire a good lawyer.

#200 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses - studio only band? » 865 weeks ago

It's become pretty obvious, at least to those that don't have their head stuck up their ass, that Axl really has no idea what he wants to do. Hence, spending a decade+ making an album with shitpiles like Sraped & Shacklers on it. The guy has no clue. At one point he must've had some nice daydreams thinking he could be GNR by himself. Then, about 10 years ago the reality of the situation set in & it's been a nightmare ever since for him. He can't even get bands like Blink 182 & Hinder to open for him anymore. That's just sad.
