Yeah I thought Kaberle would never be moved after all these years of rumors

It's an awful situation but an employer should be able to hire and not hire who they want

Sabres made a good run lately, and had a great comeback win in Montreal tonight. Overcame some bad calls as you always have to do there. Miller got a night off finally.
Colorado's really dropped off this year. Looked like they were building something good last year (did Sacco win coach of the year?) but now they might be dumping Sacco.
#224 Re: Guns N' Roses » *RUMOR* Possible GnR one-off reunion for Superbowl XLVI? » 750 weeks ago
I doubt they'd even sound that good. SB halftime is not a good gig and those guys certainly hate each other too much to rehearse. It won't happen and absent of a serious, full on reunion I don't even think it's a good idea.
Save a one-off for a HOF induction or just forget it.

Again, no way to verify this.

He's sooooooo fucking smart. You don't even know.

I think Batman Returns is one of the worst superhero movies of all time. But that's just my opinion.

Saying there were never concrete plans is meaningless - if they were concrete plans, they couldn't be cancelled or incomplete. Doesn't mean that a re-release/tour wasn't their intention, although it's cool to see he shot down the rumor about Tommy being fired directly.

I came onto the GNR forums in late 2005 with a very anti-Axl bias. I hadn't paid any attention to the new band, so I just went back and heard live versions of Madagascar, Chinese Democracy, The Blues (as it was then called), Silkworms, Riyadh, and the 02 VMA performance and my thoughts were 'What the fuck is this shit?'. I thought they were all pretty terrible, possibly except for The Blues, so my posts were pro-reunion and pro-VR. When the 06 leaks happened it was Better that made me a Guns N Roses fan again. I'm not thrilled with the album version, but that was the track that even in unpolished form totally flipped my opinion on the band. IRS was alright and I liked There Was a Time too, but if not for Better, I would've checked out again I bet. Then I wouldn't have gone to the Cleveland show in 06, and I would've missed out on one of the best rock shows I've ever been at. So Better will always hold a special place with me, and since I didn't get to experience the Slash-era band as it happened, I can understand how it could be someone's absolute favorite (although I don't know if russ was a fan in 87-93).

I'm sure there is a mix of Better in the vault that's truly awesome, but Bucket's and especially Robin's solos are my favorite parts of the current (disappointing compared to the 06 leak) album version. I agree that a lean, mean version of Better is as close to a hit as anything GnR has had since UYI, so I don't think it's a bad business strategy.
That being said, if Axl was interested in paying back the fanbase for its loyalty, then truly new music is the way to go about doing it. A better ChiDem mix with real production might be a good strategy for getting a bit of mainstream popularity, since so many people blinked and missed its release.
My inclination is still to think everything in MSL's article is true, but as I said before, it doesn't matter what I or anyone else thinks. Either it's true or it's not, and our suspicions on the subject are irrelevant to the band's future activities.
