#2421 Re: The Sunset Strip » Take Ten (list your 10 faves of any group) » 915 weeks ago
Blind Melon
1. Change
2. Toes Across the Floor
3. Galaxie
4. Deserted
5. Tones of Home
6. Soup
7. Walk
8. Car Seat
9. Seed to a Tree
10. Sleepyhouse
Wish I could've listed more, but it bothers me when people write a top ten and then add more. Change is my favorite ballad ever, great to listen with a good pair of headphones in a quiet room. Shannon's voice on that track is angelic. After that, the songs listed 2 to 10, I could put those in any order depending on the day.
Buzzsaw I like your MB20 list, but I'd put Feel, You're So Real and 3 AM in place of Busted, How Far We've Come and Bright Lights. Just my opinion, of course.

Thank god Fairchield is leaving. Terrible terrible terrible offensive gameplan. He didn't let Trent get into a rhythm, in fact I think we only threw on first down once in the first half. It was run, run, pass, punt, with no exceptions until late in the game. Punting with 4th and 4 from midfield with 4-5 minutes left was dumb. And the pass to the HB in the flats with 8 seconds left and a 4th and 5 at the Cleveland ten may have been the dumbest decision I've ever seen.
AFC is all clear now.
And Neemo, 20-10 at home against the Jets? Yeah, I think the Pats DO NEED to cheat to beat the Jets in NY. At home they barely were capable of it.

I'd still do her.

Depends how the first round games go. If San Diego is sluggish, yes, but if they show promise, bring in Jacksonville or Cleveland.

Going the Distance! Yeah, that song was big, and I still hear it pretty often. And Hole didn't make it either? Shame.

Their Christmas album is alright.

They didn't have any doubles on the list, did they? If that was a rule, I'd like to see the list without that rule. I agree on wanting to see 101-200, or at least 101-150. And I disagree about the Pumpkins singles. Sure, they were more of a full album band, but the songs I mentioned, especially Today and 1979, were big (I assume) and are still played on the radio and occasionally 1979 is in a film or something.

I see what you're saying, and yes, teams lower than them have had better years than they have, but I wouldn't want to play SD in the playoffs.

I cannot believe NR didn't make that list
I know! How could they leave off No Rain? Unless you meant a different NR... Honestly though, no Blind Melon? That song was huge, or so I'm told.
Overall, eh, it's alright. Couple missing.
Smashing Pumpkins are one of the 5 biggest rock bands that came from the 90s and had their major works in that decade (Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie, Adore) so they got screwed. Either Today, 1979, Bullet With Butterfly Wings or Disarm should be there.
And AIC is poorly represented with Man In a Box, should've been No Excuses as far as airplay and popularity goes, or Down In a Hole or Rooster or Would? . Man In a Box was successful but not as much as some of their others, and it's a sub-par song imo.
Pearl Jam too high of course. Soundgarden is unfairly represented by one of the average-er tracks from that album, but it's what get played.
Would've liked to see NIN on there, their influence and sales were large enough to get mention, but unfortunately the singles weren't enough I guess. I almost thought Closer would make it in the 70s-80s of the list.

I think the Chargers are dangerous. An underachieving team that could and should explode at any moment. We have no idea how good they could be. In fact, they have been playing "bad" this season, yet have an 8-5 record. If they were to get ont he same page all of a sudden, they could even beat the Pats.
