It's the sign of the lack of own ideas.
"a lack of of own ideas?"
because he has multiple guitar players and a harp player, plus whoever we want to speculate?i am sorry but you are dead wrong.
these are examples of ideas. he wants a grand album full of different influences. if anything, it means he is more creative because he has the vision of his music if someone were to do this or add this to it and the means to orchestrate these additions.
I'm sorry to tell you but Axl doesn't have a vision. Even Tommy Stinson said that. Various past and present members said that Axl only wanted them to jam, while he was sitting in the room. Then sometimes screamed: 'there is a riff!' etc. They just played and payed without any focus. One of the reasons why Finck left the band.
I remember an interview with Beltrami or Buckmester where the composer said that Axl invited him to work on some songs, but when he went to the studio Axl wasn't there. Later he arrived with some 'Hawaii luggage', like someone who just popped in from a holiday. He asked what he wanted him to do, and Axl answered: 'do what you want'. Well, he really has a vision.
i am sorry but i hope you are not a musician, yourself.
the luggage thing doesn't mean he lacks vision it means he is eccentric
and what do you think he was doing while they were jamming? he was getting ideas from them playing their instruments. axl doesn't need to play the instruments to be involved creatively. conductors are the most talented and experienced musicians on the stage.
and just because tommy stinson supposedly said so doesn't mean axl has no vision cause tommy is still in the band and never would have said that literally.
and fink......he left a more active trent reznor as a hired musician to play for a more inactive axl rose as a hired musician, went back, and then came back to axl. now you can't say he left axl because he has no vision because he never would've come back if that was the case.
axl has supplied the vision for gnr since the beginning and that is documented and much more than your theories.
oh and gnr, not too bad of a band eh? lots of albums
but axl must not have any vision or creativity though huh

How many fucking people are gonna be on this album?

#2423 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz: VR or Axl? » 920 weeks ago
bach tried out for vocals in vr, yes. he did not try out for vocals in gnr. unrelated so far. he then, as mentioned, stumbled into the gnr world after axl contacted him by text. definitely not a plan b or a plan of any kind. he then opened for gnr. still no parallel of any kind to trying out for vr. then he exchanged guest spots on albums with axl with, again, having nothing to do with trying out and being rejected by vr. he may be bitter about losing the job to scott weiland, ofcourse, but axl and baz's relationship has nothing to do with it other than the fact that axl probably never would have contacted him if he was in vr and, henceforth, baz would have never opened and or traded guest spots on albums with axl.
#2424 Re: Guns N' Roses » Interesting read on Axl, touring, albums in Slash's biography » 920 weeks ago
i am not sure why everyone is on jimmy's case. he's in the gnr section (not vr's) and he's stating a relevant opinion based on the topic. and one i tend to agree with - slash has lied in the past about going to axl's house and has said many times how little he remembers of his hay days in gnr yet now he has written a detailed book about these years in gnr. nobody is siding with axl - we're just stating that we do not consider this reliable info, worthy of forming more theories and speculations about axl or gnr behind the scenes.
#2425 Re: Guns N' Roses » Comparing Axl Rose to the greats » 921 weeks ago
gnr took the world by storm when rock n roll was absolutley dead and axl was a big part of that as the front man. if this didn't happen nirvana and others never would have existed. sa a musician he has functioned as a pianist, lyricist, vocalist, songwriter, and director. by director i am referring to the fact that axl is responsible for the some of the songwriting that other bandmembers wrote by directing them and this is based on other bandmembers' admissions. axl has received a ton of credit simply because he sang for one of the biggest bands in history. now some of us try to pick it all a part and take some of it away. i think he deserves all the credit he has received and then some. there is no single greatest frontman or singer or musician ever. as far as comparing Axl to the all time greats, he stands tall, without a doubt, among them for many more reasons than several others do in that same class.
