If they didn't need to cheat, why did they? Mangini had outsmarted Belicheck before... doesn't mean I think the Pats will lose now though.

Steve Fairchild, offensive coordinator for the Bills, accepted the head coaching position at Colorado State. No skin off my back. He sucked. 30th or 31st or 32nd in every offensive category this year, and his playcalling abilities were comparable to... I don't know what would've called worse plays. One of the best WRs in the NFL and yet Fairchild doesn't use him. Evans should be a pro-bowler every year, but his stats are low because Fairchild doesn't let JP or Trent throw a 15 yard route. Hopefully we'll get someone a little more aggressive for next season.

Jets are just sore losers, Pats are just cheaters, any way you want to look at it.

If you don't ask for permission then it's against the rules. Also, they could have been filming a lot more than just endzone footage. Who knows? The Pats do not deserve the pick that they forfeited, they broke the rules and suffered the consequences, puny that they are.

No, all their cap room disappeared when Vanek got that huge deal, and since then Roy and Hecht have both signed bigger and longer deals too. This offseason Campbell will be gone too.

I don't have the 07-08 numbers exactly, but I have the 06-07 salaries.

Briere was 5 mil and Drury was 3 mil, so the Sabres opened up 8 mil of cap room letting them go. Plus Biron's 2.6 and whatever Zubrus made.

But let's just say they had 10 mil in cap room. Vanek got a 6.8 mil increase, Roy got a 2.5-3 mil increase, and Hecht got an extra mil. Well, there goes all the cap room. Gone.

So? He asked permission and it was given, that's completely ok. Pats could've said no.

Buffalo won't make a move. And I don't think they should really. They're just way too young but they need to find structure from within, not from a trade or free agent that they can't afford. It's easy to forget how young they are. Hecht is the oldest forward, and he's 31 or 32. Vanek's in just his third season (drafted 03), Roy and Pominville were drafted in 01, etc... a star player would help, but with a GF-GA of +5 they should be much higher in the standings than they are.

Boston sucks. Boring-est hockey in the East. But their goaltending is amazing. Auld, the damn back-up, played like an all-star Tuesday, 45 shots on him and 1 goal I think? That's unbelievable.

Eatern Conference Point Standings and Goal Differencial:
1. Ottawa           39             +15
2. New Jersey     35             +4
3. Carolina         35              +4
4. Boston          35               +5
5. Philadelphia   34              +13
6. New York R    34               +2
7. Montreal        33               -3
8. Pittsburgh      32                0
9. Toronto         32               -3
10. Tampa Bay   31               -2
11. New York I   30              -14
12. Atlanta         29              -16
13. Florida          28              -6
14. Buffalo          27              +5
15. Washington   24              -13

This is what frustrates me, but also gives me hope about the Sabres. They're below teams that have a GF 6, 14 and 16 lower than GA. But Buffalo posts an above average 86-81. Somehow it hasn't translated into wins. They need consistency badly.
