It's certainly no secret that Velvet Revolver, having recently parted ways with Scott Weiland as their lead singer, are currently looking for a new voice. After two albums together, Weiland decided to reunite with his original band Stone Temple Pilots and now Velvet Revolver, which consist of former Guns N Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, are in the process of trying to replace him. After leaving Guns N Roses and successfully starting Velvet Revolver together, the band has a 'Been There, Done That' attitude and they couldn't be more ready to start the process with finding a vocalist.

Video clip :

We caught up with drummer Matt Sorum to get his thoughts on the band being excited for the next chapter together.

Matt Sorum Excited To Move Forward

"We're coming out with something in a couple of weeks and I think it's going to surprise everybody. It's exciting. We're moving forward. We're going to keep going and play Rock N Roll and get a new guy singing so, we did it before we'll do it again."

Sorum even admitted that Mark Burnett, Producer for many hit reality shows on T.V., approached the band about possibly doing a sequel to Rockstar, but Velvet Revolver didn't think it would hold true to their integrity. Sorum also talked about saying no to the reality show and where the band is in the process of finding a new singer.

Matt Sorum Gives An Update On Velvet Revolver Seach For Singer

"We're really seriously thinking about doing something online. Yeah, we got offered a couple of different television ideas you know. Mark Burnett called us and asked us to do that Rockstar thing and we basically said 'No!' to that. We didn't feel it was right for us. No disrespect to him but it just didn't feel right for what we want to do. As many years as we've tried to keep our integrity intact we felt that wasn't the right forum for us to do it so, we got some ideas and we should have that news in a couple weeks."

Both Matt Sorum and Scott Weiland have gone back and forth in the press about the bands breakup, even to the point where Weiland threatened to reveal secrets about Sorum to the press. Stone Temple Pilots have started their reunion tour with a show at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio and current tour dates extend until October 24th at Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans. Look for Velvet Revolver to get back into the studio in the near future, with a new vocalist and a new band name. Many rumors as to who the band has been rehearsing with have been circulating, but everything remains under wraps, at least for a little while longer.

Wasn't sure if this was VR section or TWAT cause it's partially on time with old lineup and might be reunion related I dunno.

Matt Sorum has seen his share of enigmatic frontmen from Ian Astbury of the Cult, Axl Rose of Guns N Roses, and lastly Scott Weiland. Weiland and Velvet Revolver recently parted ways, with Scott joining his ex bandmates for a Stone Temple Pilots Reunion tour.

Sorum and Weiland have had their blog battle, and we asked him if dealing with Scott Weiland made him have a newfound appreciation for one Axl Rose.

Does Matt Sorum Have A New Appreciation For Axl

"Yeah (laughs). No, no... Both... I actually have a newfound liking and love for Axl Rose (laughs). You can print that (laughs). I've said a couple of bad things about Axl, and I think they've come back to bite me in the ass. The one thing I know about Axl Rose, as much as a d--k as he was at times, the stadium was usually sold out (laughs)! A little difference between those two guys. I'm talking 50,000 not 5,000 (laughs). I could deal with that. A jet, I'm not talking just a Jet, a 727, my own limo and a guy to carry my s--t (laughs)."

He also shared his thoughts on Weiland leaving and re-joining STP.

Sorum On Weiland Getting Personal Stp Vr Relieved

"Yeah, then it got personal. It's a drag. We're relieved as Slash said (laughs). Hey man, it was great while it lasted, sort of like a relationship. It's over. It's all good. We're moving on. I guess they're doing fine, The STP. That's his original band, and he probably feels more at home there. That's cool."

Sorum also detailed what Velvet Revolver is going to do about finding a replacement for Weiland, and well have the news a little later this week. Meanwhile, Weiland and Stone Temple Pilots kicked off their summer tour dates with Rock On The Range, and theyll be playing sheds throughout the summer.

Whilst not American, I gotta vote for Reagan. Reason:  He was an actor. Poor reason I know but I really don't know much else.

Here's hoping this actually comes true. Not just for us, because if it doesn't Baz will look like an idiot.

Amazon can say what they feel like. Until I have the damn thing in my hands I don't believe it exists.
