you mean you think this was discussed a while ago between trent and robin and before management was hired, but was kep secret until now?
I'm not sure, but I doubt it was done just a few days ago.
When Axl saw that Dr. Pepper thing he immediately replied to it. Maybe it was a set-up between the management and Dr. Pepper or maybe it was just as sudden as Axl pointed out, but nevertheless, in this case I strongly suspect Axl had no idea just what Finck was doing. I would imagine the management is having talks right now about just what the hell they can do with this car-crash.

Doubt it. NIN and Robin have probably been lurking in the shadows for a while now. In my honest opinion I think the management got caught with their pants down when that picture was on NIN's website and I doubt Axl had a clue too.

Im going with the 2002 thing. Tobias was never supposed to be a permanent member anyway. And the core is whats important. Axl, Stinson, Finck, Reed. I dont like the drumming issue very much but I can go with it.

for the record I've always wanted to hear "Axl's Vision" before a reunion...and a reunion is just a dream at this time anyway. Lets wait til we get a statement before treating it like anything other than one possible scenario out of many
Well that would be all nice. Tommy said "get onboard or fuck off" and I was onboard way before that. Im waiting for Chinese Democracy or I will go down trying. I'll be happy for all the GNR fans seeing a reunion happening but it will taste bitter in my mouth.
But, a reunion isn't happening anytime soon anyway. The only way I could go along with it is if Axl does this first and takes a break and then does the reunion.

A band that sold billions of copies and has a $13,000,000 advance sold out a long fucking time ago...not sure i understand your angle...GnR is a money making machine....it exists to make money there is nothign left to sell out
For the past 10 years we have been presented a new Guns N Roses, with 3-4 core members being there basically for that time. It's not your every day band. We have accepted it, supported it, and defended it for a long time. 10 years.
I'm not talking money here mate, I'm talking about Axl basically selling out all of his ideas and plans for a reunion and I'm not following it. When I chose to support this band 10 years ago it was all in. It's like you support your rulers plan of revolution and making a new little country and you fight for it but then the leader just drops the whole thing and unites with the previous country. I would feel a little bit betrayed for my efforts.

and to all people saying it doesn't mean shit that robin is going to nin for a us tour: get a fucking clue. who goes on tour with another mainstream band if their current band has an album done and "close" to release?
i think the main problem with all of us is that we found out about robin from the nin website. i, personally, would have appreciated it much more and it would have seemd a lot more logical to find out about this from axl or his "new" management team.

But I don't understand how anyone can really say having Slash and Duff in GNR would be "bullshit". Even if they like another guitarist. What's "bullshit" about the people who (with Axl) made the band famous, and play on the albums we have, appearing at the shows playing their music?
Because Axl and the old guys distanced themselves so greatly from each other that a reunion would for me sound like a complete sell out and that we have been tricked all these years into buying this new band and then it's just forgotten. It would probably mean they will gain a lot of old fans back, but they will loose others, including me.
But it's not gonna happen anyway.

its interesting how no one really gets upset and starts reading into anything if Ron or Richard or Dizzy decide to do anything solo....but when Robin does it....its the end of the world...
It's not solo, it's a major band and for a long time. And it happens in a time where we expected CD to be announced and GNR to go on tour. Of course people get upset.

if it did, i would seriously delete every account on every GnR forum. it would be absolute bullshit, and thats why I know its not gonna happen.
