#31 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N' Roses planning new album - 'It's too good not to happen!' » 420 weeks ago

I don't ever expect anything from Axl Rose, but if the band reunites and not a single song comes from it, I'll be disappointed in the wasted opportunity. I won't be disappointed that the reunion tour happened and when I get to see them in August, I'm gonna lose my shit. If an album isn't in the cards... ok, but you know, one song for old time's sake for a big movie would at least cement the NITL tour in stone for future generations of rockers.

In 2017 with all that's changed, a new song would be headline news on every huge entertainment media outlet in the world. It'd be financially and artistically a total win win for everyone in the group and subsequent tours. So I'm not going to expect an album, but there's no reason not to have a new tune. If it all ends with just a tour and I'm sure there has to be a live DVD (that won't make any money in this day and age, relatively), I'll be thankful it happened. But I'll kind of roll my eyes that we never got a song. If Axl is afraid of failure or underwhelming people with an album, I at least can get that anxiety. But a fucking tune? They could even cover a song and ignite the media for a minute or two.

That Crowder guy is a little pussy. Watch him debate Joe Rogan on marijuana and come apart at the seams like the little bitch, chicken shit, big talk when he's in the driver's seat conservative he is.

Angus has written a lot of AC/DC albums alone in the Johnson era. This crossed my mind too, maybe Axl just wants to sing and not have any pressure with a new album, unlike one with GNR. No one is gonna dis an AC/DC record, ever and they'll never release a bad one. Not only that, but Axl would be able to write AC/DC lyrics if he wanted easily, and without overthinking it if he did want to contribute. If he didn't it's Angus' ball to drop.

This is why to me, AXL/DC is as interesting, if not more than a GNR reunion for many reasons. Most importantly, we WILL have Axl singing on a kick ass rock record if he joins AC/DC, you could literally bet the farm on it. A guaranteed album from a dude who could only muster one in quarter century is a prospect I'm willing to accept sacrificing a potential new GNR one.

The more, I think about it, it won't even interfere with a GNR record because if Axl has too much up his sleeve in the vault and with ANGUS YOUNG also writing a record with him/for him, he's got all the aces in the hole he needs if he actually, finally, releases something.

I'm of the mindset Angus knew damn well he wanted Axl in his band. The finish of that tour was just a way for him to find out if people will pay to see them as a duo in stadiums. Angus is smart, he knew that was a test if he should hang 'em up, or keep on truckin'.

The Crockett Cup never came close to bombing that bad and it wasn't 1% of what WM is globally now. Jim Crockett can't be compared to Vince. JCP never would have folded if they never left the South. Trying to go national and terrible accounting/spending habits did.

The thing about watching at home is you're not sitting in a shitty Stadium chair for 7 hours in sweltering heat after an already exhausting weekend. If, and I'm almost positive this is true, 30 000 out of towners come to see WM, they'd stay two days and that alone would pack a stadium with the local crowds.

WWE has Axxess, HOF, NXT, WM, Raw and SD in Orlando, in addition to Wrestlecon and about 8 other wrestling events, which is why I always am so intimidated to try to go to WM and figure everything out. The two day WM would just let them make even more money via Axxess and everything else, plus give their network more content. I think it's inevitable that it will happen because everyone was bitching about the length this year... everyone. From Twitter to Meltzer to Auston, even to JR. And if it stays one day with a shorter show, people are gonna be bitching that x guy doesn't get a match. The logical thing is they need to make WM a legit wrestling festival. It already is, actually. They just need to restructure.

From my interpretation of Mania weekend, out of towners who travel from across the globe to WM as their vacation fill up all the non-WM venues (HOF, Raw, SD, NXT) by default. So, the only thing they actually have to worry about is two nights in a stadium and I don't think adding one show to a slightly smaller stadium is an issue. It can't be done tomorrow, but the fact is there are tens of thousands who travel just for Mania, they're not gonna worry about two nights. For WWE, it's not gonna cost them much more to run two nights. Axxess gets to be another day, more time to do everything, better shows. Everyone wins.

I don't necessarily want it to go to two days... I just think they're gonna do it for the betterment of everything.

It seems weird to say, but Wrestlemania might have to start being spread over two nights if they keep this up, and they have enough talent to do it. Rushing matches, cutting matches, ruining the balance of the show because people are in the building 7 hours... it makes sense for WM to go two nights, especially if they have one world championship on each show. It hurts the show because there are lulls because in pro wrestling, people don't wanna repeat moves/repeat spots/etc. So some matches are glorified TV matches and that is a disservice to fans and talent. UFC events go on for 7 hours, and they don't drag. Wrestling cards can't by structure go that long easily.

I haven't got to see my show yet - but I can't wait until late August.

The tour has went so far exactly as I expected and as it should. The shows are huge, chock full of great tunes. There's not much use swapping out GNR songs. The core list is just too good. I didn't think we'd get new music, I didn't think we wouldn't either... I was more indifferent to the new music. I really want new music, but like, let's slow down. These guys gotta have a giant reunion tour and we all know Axl doesn't rush. It's pretty expected if we do get a new song, it's gonna be debuted on Jimmy Fallon or a blockbuster flick, not at a random show.

I wish they'd put The Seeker on in the middle of the set so it can be a piss break song. At this point, Coma is the song I'm gonna jet out and take a piss for because I'll catch the best part at the tail end. I would piss during Duff's song, but it'll be too short.

If Reigns turned full heel tomorrow (which is likely if he beats Taker), the entire landscape will change and he'll be the biggest babyface in the company. Modern wrestling fans are absolutely stupid and merely do the opposite of what they're fed no matter what in faux defiance. I could be the WWE champion tomorrow if you believe the Twitter retards.

#38 Re: The Garden » Hulk Hogan the star of the...AWA...1983 » 430 weeks ago

Without Hulk Hogan, WWF would have still exploded beyond belief, maybe not quite to the heights Hogan brought, but still very, very high. It's one of those "what if" scenarios there's really no answer. What if Pong hadn't existed, or had sucked? Would video games have imploded? I doubt it. What if the first book sucked? Well it probably did, but there's been many more. Without Hulk, there's no "x", but guys like Undertaker, HBK (ugh), The Rock and Stone Cold did come along and WWF managed to make more money with them. That's the thing about wrestling - no one is bigger than wrestling. Not even the Hulkster, brother.

The facts of the matter are in 1984 WWF through offering the Briscos lifelong jobs, got them to sell their stake in Georgia, which sent a tidal wave down, obliterating the major territory that had airing nationwide on TBS. This was lost to WWF and Georgia was off TBS. It drew poorly in the ratings and Vince actually sold the time slot to JCP for a huge profit. If memory serves me right, he did the same to get on USA by buying out the Blanchard territory, and he began paying stations just to carry wrestling. Being the only game in town and with a lot of regional territories losing major TV saw him become incredibly exposed. He couldn't lose when no other promotions could have major TV, and he could run 3 shows a night from the syndicated/national TV programs.

Vince, being based out of New York, had the hugest territory with the biggest markets and his finger on the pulse. And with that said, PPV absolutely was a huge factor in his dominance, it made JCP PPVs in the 80s, essentially, non-existent, along with JCP mismanagement, created a perfect storm for him to wipe them off the map. And when WWF got on NBC for SNMEs, good night Irene!

AWA, Memphis, JCP, Florida, Mid-South, basically there were about 15 major territories in the USA that'd sell 5000+ seats per night (and for major cards in the 70s/early 80s, they'd have to have shows in outdoor domes, even in "small" territories), every night. So wrestling was really big, much bigger than a lot of people fathom in comparison to how big it is now, even with the current global reach of WWE.

I have watched thousands of hours of wrestling shoot interviews and I've never heard of the Kerry von Erich thing before. I highly doubt Kerry would want to go when he faced Ric Flair in front of like 45 000 people in 1984 in his dad's own territory. Plus, Kerry had major drug problems and never jumped to WWF until WCCW had totally died after all the von Erich tragedies. I'd like to know where that anecdote came from because that is an interesting one! It's really too bad about Kerry.

On a side note, I mentioned before about joining Nightrain and not getting anything back in November. Well today I got a shipping notification! Haha

Nice pivot. This isn't about me. I'm not making the claim, YOU ARE. And you're full of shit.

I don't post links to partisan sources. You tried to claim I posted shit from breitbart before and I proved you wrong.

I'm not posting conspiracies or calling Presidential candidates I don't like 'sociopaths'. I don't condemn behavior and then defend it because someone on my 'side' does it.

If you have any proof otherwise, please post it. I have a conservative slant too, but only as it relates to personal ownership and following the law. If Republicans do something stupid, I call them on it. If I like something a Democrat does, I comment on that. You don't. You never consider the other side. You never post calling something progressive stupid. At best you'll dismiss something undeniable as obscure and insignificant.

So yea, I think I get to say I'm more objective than most. And because I'm not posting links to far left blogs or posting an article and claiming it's supporting something not even mentioned or claimed in the text, my links are more credible.

The only one who comes close to trying to be fair is ID, and even he jumps on the bandwagon too quick.

Mitch and Buzz are two sides of the same coin, but none of you see that. That's the difference.

Looks like you're trying to be both a dick and a vag, playa.
