Zombux, thanks for the link - that is an EXCELLENT analysis. The guy sounds like a guitarist considering his explanation of pedals and effects. I'm going to have to re-read that.

One thing I hadn't realized, that Mendez points out, is this: "Side note, the version of Chinese Democracy album that was used in 2009 for the Rock Band DLC has different mixes than are on the album. On Better, Bumblefoot is included during the bridge (and the mix is completely fucked in my opinion) on the last chorus, some overdubs are omitted. CD only has BBF during the verse, no other guitar parts and it has louder electronic oarts on tthr outro. Sorry doesnt have Robin's acoustic guitar. Robins rhythm guitar after the solo on Street of Dreams seems to be dradtically lowered on the mix (and it seems that the guitars on the outro are mixed differently). Madagascar only has Buckethead and Robin Finck on rhythm guitars (Bumblefoot), but this time they are loud, so you can actually hear what they are doing outside of the lead parts. If The World has some electronic parts omitted."

I'm going to have to go back and listen to the Rock Band and album versions side by side!

it's never been confirmed if those were genuine or leaker-made.

Thanks for that! It certainly was jolting to buy the album and think, "'Shackler's' sounds different!"

"Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" scared the crap out of me and my friends when we were kids. The movie never gets much attention but it is so intense.

The versions that leaked in the last years are from 2001 (Maddy, SOD, TWAT). They all source from the same CD. It was a CD given to MSL from a former Inter-scope employee as a gift in 2015.

Does this mean they were in lossless quality (rather than mp3s) at one point?

Also, looking at Zombux's list of studio sessions, I remembered that the original leak of "Shackler's Revenge" had a slightly different opening section and close. They almost sounded like loops - kind of choppy. Were those confirmed to have been done by the leaker(s) to alter the song, or was that something the band created?

I've never seen them. If you track down the originals, please let us know. What you created looks very professional.

I did love the 2002-era Chinese "G&R" logo, as seen here: http://yup-yup-mark.blogspot.com/2016/0 … acoma.html

If an actual new song leaks in its entirety - "The General," "Silkworms" (not the remix), "Jackie Chan," or anything else - GNR fandom will explode. We'll see tons of new fans join the forums and even more old ones return. It would be the best possible thing for this band, and our community, because it would give us all new insights into Axl's muse. It would also spark new hopes for another album.

With the ChiDem 10th anniversary coming up, I remain optimistic that we'll get either an official box set or a leak from some generous soul.

Zombux, I actually referred to your studio sessions guide (http://www.mygnrforum.com/topic/220883- … able-info/) to better remember when "Jackie Chan" leaked. It was May 2006, same time as the 1999 demos for "IRS" and "TWAT."

What's weird is that the other two tracks leaked in complete form, while "Jackie Chan" has only ever circulated as a snippet. I'm trying to get my head around that: Presumably it came from a different source/leaker. Could it be a fake? Has anyone ever used the Shazam app to see if it can be identified as a song from another band?

#569 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash & Conspirators NEW album Living the Dream » 361 weeks ago

On one hand it's unremarkable but on the other hand, who else is creating songs like this in 2018? It sounds like a throwback to 1988, when Aerosmith, Def Lep, and GNR were all dominating rock radio. Yes, we've heard it before, but we're not hearing much like it right now, if that makes sense.

It'll probably be a lot more fun when it's played live.

Neemo, the problem with YouTube is that content there has been taken down. A while back some jerk calling himself "Uzi Suicidal LLC" submitted multiple copyright infringement notices. If some links have not been broadly shared, it's probably due to paranoia of that same thing happening again.
